Silent Hill 4 -Don't take the loving doll -While the girl can't die while you escort her, the more damage she takes the easier it is to not get a good ending -Purify your apartment whenever a ghost is in it, otherwise you might not be able to completely purify it -Did I mention that the apartment is going to become hellish? Save those healing items. Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness -Since crops are now dependent on water level and sunshine, they can die. They will die. -The weather hates you and your crops. -Focus on building a bridge to the east meadow asap. This allows you to get the festivals. -Foraging and fishing (give Taro presents to get the fishing rod quick) give you more money than you'd think -Stay away from Lu Bu, he will gently caress you up.

I've started a new game in the second one, but it's going incredibly slow because I'm not used to the puzzle style, plus there always seems to be a required roundabout way of getting from point A to point B. The number one thing to know is that these games should be played in the dark at night. Preferably with headphones. SH2 - At one point you cross the lake. Look at the letter after you do this. SH4 - Don't take the loving doll. Seriously. Don't do it. Leave it there. Other than that, the games are pretty straightforward, albeit with a few weird puzzles and a town that makes getting between two points a pain in the rear end. Fallout 3 - The Lady Killer perk appears drat near useless. I've had one extra dialogue option (which didn't do anything), Super Mutants don't have gender, and I'm over halfway through the game, by my estimates. - Don't fret too much over what skills you tag. All that does is add 15 to them, so it affects the beginning of the game. - The perks that give you extra skills points from leveling up and from books are both quite useful and should be taken as early as possible. - Stay the gently caress away from

Basically, when enemies die they release these glowing purple things (I forget what they're called, I think Phozons). So these phozons can either be absorbed into your weapon which increases your attack, or you can plant seeds, which absorb phozons in order to grow and then release fruit. You eat the fruit to increase health. So you're balancing health and attack experience, essentially. It's pretty cool how it works, especially the alchemy system.

Yeah, don't run in front of tanks, they'll gently caress you up good. There's not that much to know about VC that isn't common sense, each battle requires its own unique tactics. - Make sure the enemy doesn't take your camps, which it will sometimes try to do. - Stay behind cover whenever you can, no matter where the enemies shoot you from, they won't be able to get headshots on you. - Snipers are not as powerful as they seem, and headshots will miss a lot for you. - Don't take that goddamn druggie engineer, the guy with "Moody" as one of his potentials. That little poo poo will, at random times, decide to do dick all when you select him. I hate that guy. - Know that if a unit gets shot at from their front, they have a chance to duck, which won't make them invincible, but will make it harder to hit. - Likewise, shooting a unit from behind makes them unable to counterattack. - For some reason, the evil lady has large breasts. I have played MGS 1 and 2 all the way through, but I haven't played #3. You should play #3. MGS4 bsically ties up every plot thread of every MGS game ever, makes references to all of them, has characters from all of them, and basically is a huge-rear end finale to the entire series. Which means that you should play #3 first. Heck, playing the two Portable Ops games also contributes the the total understanding of MGS4's plot, but not as much as Snake Eater does. Other than that, play the game as you want. Try to knock out bosses for special stuff, and after doing so look around their area: you can find statues. Not much point, but neat collectibles. Also, when they reveal their 'second' form: when they remove their armor, you can take pictures of them for an...interesting reaction.

Get the mini-chainsaws off of the psycho clown, then head to the bookstore. I don't know which ones you need, but there are three books that you can pick up to increase the durability of these weapons. With all three books in your possession, you can use the things for pretty much the entire game; they'll saw through a number of zombies in a single, quick hit, bosses will simply collapse before your sawing might, and if you ever need more you can just return to where the clown was and pick them up. You might need to get a couple more near the end of the game, if you cut through a high number of the undead.

All you need to know about Lost Odyssey is that there's no point in grinding, there are no 'missables' because there're all purchasable at an auction house later in the game*, and remember to keep everyone fairly equally levelled. *I've heard differences in this opinion. Apparently, it's possible to miss the spells Shieldus and Barricadus, so it's best to purchase them immediately as soon as you can. Grundma posted:I'm thinking of picking up Gothic II from goozex since its only 100 points there for the gold edition, but I have a few questions first. Well, I hoped you played Gothic 1, because there are a lot of references to it, from characters, to plot, to actually visiting a fair chunk of the area from it. - Don't get into fights with more than one thing at a time, especially at the beginning, or you'll die. Learn to time your attacks, not just swing wildly. - There are like three or so different ways to get into the city at the beginning, any of them work fine, but I'd recommend working with the farmer; you get a nice set of starting armor out of it to boot. - I recommend exploring, but carefully and with saves, and only during the daytime. At night shadowbeasts roam the forests and that's bad. - Humans won't kill you (most of them, anyway), but just knock you out, take your gold, and possibly your weapon. - The first time I played, I don't think I had the manual and I don't remember losing much from the experience. There's backstory on factions and history and whatnot, but nothing you can't learn from the game. And the interface is many, many times improved from the first game. - When it comes to joining a faction, as far as I remember, until you've actually joined them and become one of them, you can do the joining quests for all of the factions, gaining a whole lot of xp and some decent items in the process. Hmm, that's all I can think of. Been a while since I've played.

Well, first of all I'd recommend playing MGS3. In fact, yes, do that, there are characters from 3 that make an appearance in 4, plus you get to see Ocelot when he was just a girly man, before Snake made him the badass he is today. Other than that, MGS4 is pretty open-ended in how you can approach problems. Some things to remember: - Unless I'm mistaken, taking out the bosses non-lethally means taking out their 'second form' (you'll know what I mean when you play it) non-lethally. You also get a little statue of them for doing this that appears in the area you defeated them, so take a look around before moving ahead. - When in their second form, if you whip out your camera the bosses go into photo shoot mode, which is...interesting. - The camo is retardedly useful. With good enough camo enemies will not see you at all unless they bump into you.
