Theme Park

* DO NOT INVEST IN STAFF TRAINING - it will break your handymen, causing them to run around mindlessly and not actually clean anything. Just set their patrol areas and keep an eye on them.

* Don't build too much at once. Wait until your existing park is turning a profit first.

* Building multiple Monorail stations and linking them together gives you an attractive method of transporting guests.

Earth Defence Force 2017

* Go into the Options menu and turn Camera Effects off. This will prevent the camera suddenly abandoning you mid-firefight to focus on something else.

This is only advisable if the barnacle is a short distance off the ground. If it tries to pull you up a considerably long distance, shooting it is safer than crowbarring it to death and then plunging to yours.

Some people have bad aim, particularly with an unzoomed sniper rifle at close range. And yes, I am one of these people. :saddowns:

Final Fantasy VIII? Tips? I feel like I should finally get around to playing this since I've played 4, 6 and 7. I heard the combat system is kinda crazy. Also it is worth playing through, right?
It's definitely worth trying at least once. Play through the story once, and once you get to Disc 4 you can go on GameFAQs and look up all the little side-quests that you wouldn't find otherwise. Seriously, some of those are WAY too subtle for the naked eye.

My best advice would be to get your GFs to learn "Boost" as soon as possible. It'll come in handy when you summon your GFs in longer fights.

Also, if you happen to find any issues of Occult Fan magazine, you can sell them at the nearest store for 17,500 gil each. The first one is on a bookshelf near the draw point in the Balamb Garden library, and you can find it as soon as you get to walk around the Garden for the first time. It's nice to have enough money to buy 100 potions before you even attempt the first mission. :D

Final Fantasy VII

When running, hold the L1 button to run 45 degrees to the left. Hold R1 to run 45 degrees to the right. Useful for when you need to change direction slightly but don't want to press a second D-pad button!

(This is an actual game feature)

Any tips for Sid Meier's Pirates!?
  • It's generally a good idea to pick a nation and stick to it. If you do enough favours for a particular nation (such as escorting governors, sinking or capturing enemy ships, defeating pirates etc), the governor of a large city of your chosen nation will promote you. Promotions give you perks such as free ship repairs and make it easier for you to get around.
  • Spices are easily the most profitable cargo in the game. If you can find somewhere that sells them cheaply/capture a treasure ship that carries them, sell them in Barbados or another friendly city of similar size to rake in the gold.
  • Don't obsess over building your personal fortune - having loads of money is nice but eventually you'll have to split it among your crew to prevent a mutiny. When you do this, you get an opportunity to change the difficulty level depending on how well you're doing. Higher difficulty settings give you a larger share of the loot.
  • The dancing minigame can be quite annoying until you get a feel for the controls and the timing involved. Winning the heart of the governor's daughter is a good way to get several rare items for free.
  • Don't overload your ship with food. In general, a year's worth is plenty for any voyage. If you have too many crew to feed them all without overloading, consider splitting the loot and disbanding the crew.

Not really a game, but...

Playstation Home
  • Males outnumber females by at least ten to one.
  • The ones that represent themselves as female are probably guys in disguise
  • Don't flirt with them anyway unless you're into that sort of thing
  • The chess games are broken. As in "you won't be able to move properly or finish a game" broken. If you're into playing chess with strangers online, click here. Trying to play a serious game of chess on Playstation Home will only lead to disappointment, particularly if you play black.
  • Draughts/checkers, on the other hand, works perfectly fine and can be used to settle many disagreements/arguments/wagers. Knowing how to play will ensure that you win 90% of games straight off. The other 10% are people who will give you a run for your money but you can ultimately win anyway
  • If in doubt, just start dancing and maybe place a bubble machine down. Others will come, just give it time. This will work better if your avatar is female.
  • Bored of the people in a current area? Exit that particular area, then re-enter. You'll find a totally different set of users there.
  • Check out the clothes stores, there's a decent array of free stuff there.
  • Keep in mind that the people you meet are console gamers. Therefore, not only are they easy to troll, but they have the best meltdowns ever :3:

The damage for Frog Drop increases with Quina's level and the number of frogs caught. Again I don't remember the exact formula.
It's Quina's level multiplied by the number of frogs caught. Since characters can reach level 99, and you can catch up to 100 frogs, Frog Drop can do up to 9,900 points of damage.

Thanks Neoseeker!

And yeah, Quina's gender is unknown. Even the characters in-game refer to Quina as "s/he" or "it.

I picked up Civilisation III for 75p in a Steam discount sale a while back. Also, my friend got me to install Fragile Allegiance recently. Any advice for either game would be appreciated :)

Any tips for Little Big Adventure? It doesn't seem to be on the wiki.
Getting hit by enemies causes you to stumble backwards. If a clone is beating on you, keep stepping backwards to escape, rather than running away.

Also, items and health powerups in containers regenerate once you leave a map and re-enter. Therefore you can grind places like your house over and over for money.
