Last time I used iTunes it decided to rewrite the tags on most of my music without asking. I am only 90% sure it was iTunes, but still, what the gently caress? When it didn't recognise the ID3v2.4 tags (because it has awful standards compliance), it simply rewrote them as ID3v2.3 but using the ID3v1 tags, so I've lost my music data on a whole bunch of files  Is there any way to open iTunes in a "read only" mode?
