Gearhead posted:How the hell did that happen? I stopped getting veteran points and sent a petition. The GM commented on how screwed up my account data was as he tried to force the servers to set my veteran months at 84 (which it should have been). Apparently he instead managed to add 84 veteran months, and now all my characters start with 406 veteran points.

Anyone feel like getting together this weekend to help me get the Inferno sanctuary key? I'll provide the insignias, and I'm currently on Venerable Ecclesiast Gal Gil in the quest thanks to Donglaser. (Edited because too many goons have dong-related names.) BadLlama posted:Is there a goon guild for this by any chance? GoonCorp on Omni RK1 is the "official" one, but there's plenty of us in other guilds too. If you're on RK1, though, "/tell Roflbot !join" will give you access to goon guildchat whether or not you're in GoonCorp.

http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showthread.php?t=548701 Posted a public "kill Lord Galahad" signup in Life on Atlantean, so those goons who said earlier that they'd try to help me out, well, here's your chance to make sure you do.

Correnth posted:http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showthread.php?t=548603 -- AO players are awesome (read until at least Macrosun's post on the second page). See, WoW players would do crap like that if bubblehearth got nerfed or something. AO players do that to get a casino.

Vidmaster posted:Wow, nice. Now that APF is instanced and people can do it whenever they want, I'm sure stuff is way cheaper. I should see if I can get an org team together to get a belt for my doc one of these days... To be fair, it was only that cheap because APF was doing sector 42 and only nine people (myself included) even got to the boss that dropped the thing.

QWERTTY posted:Is this game worth a look into? I'd say so. It's a unique setting for the genre, a good RP community if you're into that sort of thing, plenty of hilarious endgame drama if you ever get there, and a reasonably sized free-play community.

mfny posted:Noticed this thread has gotten bumped up a bit today so i may as well ask. I attempted to play AO again a while back but couldn't since it was broken on new(er) ATI cards and/or Vista. Has this situation changed yet ? Dunno about the ATI thing, but the Vista fix is simple enough -- either install it outside the normal Program Files folders, or set the Anarchy Online folder to give Modify permissions to the Users group. (The problem's caused by a combination of AnarchyPatcher.exe requiring admin privileges and the VirtualStore system having a tendency to make a copy of the resource database when AO is run normally, just for the record.)

mfny posted:I suspect then if you havent heard anything that rendering issues on new ATI cards is still broken, i see nothing on patch notes to say that its been adressed. Oh Funcom hurry up with porting AO to the AOC engine will you .. Actually, it's more that I didn't even know there were any issues with new ATI cards. If they're the ones mentioned in this thread, hough, then it seems the newest Catalyst drivers have that problem resolved.

renzor posted:So according to my account page I have all the expansions, nice. Liberating my 30 free days and downloading now. Should I expect to have any useless vet items on any of my chars due to my account being 8 years old? Veteran reward months (what you spend for said useless items, though they aren't all useless) accumulate based on how long your account is active. You might have some really old items from back in the day, but unless it's something like a Pioneer Backpack, they probably won't be worth all that much.

Tyshalob posted:The last I have heard is that they ditched the engine rewrite they were doing, and are instead going to use the AoC engine and work from there. Given that the Age of Conan engine seems to have based at least in part on the original Anarchy Online engine, I'm kind of surprised they didn't do that from the start. (I was in the earliest stages of the AoC beta -- at least half the settings pages at the time were verbatim Anarchy Online, even the ones that wouldn't make any sense in AoC.)

Tyshalob posted:Some guy was going to erase his character and dumped some items on me because I was there. I know squat all about these things so if they're remotely useful in any way speak up and you can have them. Otherwise they're shopfood. Pretty sure none of those are worth the effort of trying to sell, but I'll run them through the GMS terminal and see what comes up. EDIT: Nanocrystal would be 2m, ear symbiant doesn't even show up (probably due to the extremely low level), and the chest is 75k. Might be worth trying to sell the crystal, but the symbiants are vendorbait. -Troika- posted:Well, my fixer is doing quite nicely. Last night I met up with some L24 subway twink who was packing a Neleb's Nightmare battlerod (aka the noob rod) and he power levelled me to 30 or so. Then today I ran into someone that gave me a bunch of fixer guns around QL 100 or so. Tell you what. If you can get together a set of steel-ribbed armor (any type or combination thereof), I'll turn it into this stuff for you. Good fixer armor from my experience. -Troika- posted:Rome Blue is one of the better places to mission in my opinion. The layout is simple and I can get a mission there within a few clicks of the request mission button. Do you have an NCU Hacker Interface yet? It's probably the most important non-weapon item a fixer can have, and it's incredibly cheap to boot.

-Troika- posted:Tell me about Keepers. I've been having a lot of fun with my Fixer, but since a friend of mine is gonna start playing soon, I'm thinking of starting something a bit more team oriented so we can level together. Best analogy I can think of would be the Diablo II paladins. Melee DPS, mostly, but with a shitload of support auras.
