Problems do have solutions, you know...
# Country/Provider: US, AT&T
# Current contract status: Well past contract period, eligible for upgrade; using Cingular-branded Sony Ericsson T637
# Budget (phone/plan): $400 for phone only
# Features I know I want: AT&T 3G; non-QWERTY; camera with flash; prefer candybar form factor

I'm a voice/text user looking to transition to a T9 smartphone. On paper, Nokia's N79 looks like a perfect fit; it packs lots of functionality into a device that's only slightly larger than my current phone. Reports from HowardForums and the like, though few, seem generally positive.

I'm interested in hearing about any experiences with the N79, or alternately, a recommendation of a similar phone. I'm also interested in hearing about phone-shopping experiences with NewEgg, since I would most likely buy from them if I do go with the N79. Thanks!
