I cant loving wait for the Friday remake. I normally hate remakes, but Friday the 13th is ready for a reboot, I mean where the hell are they gonna take Jason after space and Freddy?

My favorites are 6, 7, 4 then FvJ and Jason X

Also I am holding out hope that one of the sequels to this remake will take place during winter at Camp Crystal Lake.

I loved Jason X, followed the movie daily online at fridaythe13thforum.com (now gone), saw it twice in theaters, bought the movie on DVD the first day it came out and the McFarlane action figure. I thought the kills where really creative, Über Jason is badass, the writer Todd Farmer gets killed in the film and looks like Stone Cold (he posted on the forums and seemed like a cool guy), and the ending was awesome.

I think I would list my favorites as 6,4,7,FvJ,JX,3,1,2,8,JGTH,5

Just got back from an advanced screening of Friday the 13th in Columbus, OH.

Jason is brutal in this one. I don't think he looked as big as Hodder but he was pretty imposing. The kills are great, gore hounds will not be disappointed. There's a few that I don't know how they got past the censors given F13's history. A few are heading in the torture porn territory. Also jump scares...everywhere, and all are predictable. But overall I liked it. Oh also more tits than part 4.

If your wondering about Jason having teleportitis yes

Anyway for those that see it, kill discussion:
loving Asian guy getting the screw driver slowing jammed into his throat! How the hell did that scene last so long? 20 years ago it would have been cut down for sure. Also the sleeping bag scene, jesus christ! Jason never really let his victims linger before like that. Also I would add the axe to the back of the token black guy and letting him sit there and suffer to draw the others out. The many eyeball gouges where loving great though. Also the machete through the deck to the topless chick was loving amazing. I cant say any of the kills disappointed me.

Don't do it, just hold out.

One good thing about the kills, I didn't notice any CGI.

Also wanted to mention the clothes/hair styles are very 80's esque.

Really? I thought the kills were totally wussy compared to the previous movies.

This isn't zombie Jason, he isn't going to be tearing people in half. You're forgetting machete to the neck (neck separates), fire poker? through the cops eye and out the back of the door (you could see brain matter hanging off the end), axe through the back of the black dude. Also the deaths where never allowed to linger in the older movies. I think all the recent torture porn flix relaxed the censors a bit. The screwdriver kill would have been a quick cut away in the 80's.

There's no way I think the movie was perfect, it definitely had some pacing issues. The first 3rd of the movie could have been done much better. And it definitely didn't add anything new, which I think is going to disappoint the longtime F13 fans the most, but its a loving remake what do you expect.

Well I still think the DVD is going to come out with mega violent alternate versions like the girl getting her face mashed up in the rotor blades instead of just getting bonked on the head
also i did remember all those kills but I just wasnt very impressed with them \/:)\/

and Friday teen girls shouldnt look like porn stars in their 30s that they hired just because theyd get their boobs out easily imho.

also the main three white dudes have almost the exact same medium length hair that flips off at the sides and its totally hilarious when two of them are arguing at the gas station.

You got me there, the guys did look mostly the same. The girls where unrealistic but im not going to complain. :)

I still think if they cut the first part shorter they could have gone for some more character development. Its hard to get attached to any of the characters or care when they die. Doesn't the Asian guy call everyone cliches at one point?

I know when that whole DVD set was released a couple years back, it had the movies and most had some bonus/extended scenes. The part I remember best about it was in Part 7, when Jason grabbed the girl in the sleeping back and slammed her against a tree. In the unedited/uncut version, he actually slams her against the tree like 4 or 5 times, rather than just once. Apparently filmmakers felt it was too gruesome and brutal so they shortened it up.

I bought that box set the day it came out. Some of the cut scenes are on the bonus disc, with commentary. But they where pretty bad quality. I think they got them off a VHS the director owned. It would be nice to see everything put back together and polished.

I thought it was great. The previous F13 DVDs where mostly bare-bones except for a few commentaries like on part 7. This documentary was the first time I've seen interviews from all of the directors and all of the people that played Jason. not to mention seeing a bunch of the actors/actresses again.

Starting with part 6 he is a zombie. Its interesting to speculate about, because in part 6 he is shot through the head and it doesn't seem to effect him in any way. I don't know if an appendage cut off of him would still be animated or not.

It doesn't really matter anymore since with the reboot he is no longer a zombie. I hope they make more new movies and turn him undead again though!

I went to Horror Hound Weekend in Cincinnati last month. It was my first horror con. It was pretty small but had some great guests. If you're going for autographs bring at least $20-$30 per person and some kind of case/backpack to hold them in. Argento might be more. Malcolm McDowell charged $30 and Linda Blair was $40 I think (dunno, she didn't show up on time). Don't expect to spend more than an hour or two unless you plan on going to a panel or movie screenings.

I thought it was cool that you could go up and talk to actors without having to wait in any lines, or buy anything from them really, except for the major guests.

If you're interested in buying poo poo go on the last day for the 'I don't want to haul this poo poo back home' sales! Also don't expect any free swag like at comic conventions. None of the booths had anything like that.
