If anyone needs a geologist near Boulder Colorado I can be of service. I'm a recent grad currently working as a staff geologist at an environmental consulting company. I don't like the company too much due to certain business practices. I had good grades and have been gaining experience since August. I have work experience with ground water monitoring/sampling. Air sampling, radon sampling, and various research skills especially related to coal mining in the West. I also have IT experience with web programming and web admin/design. Briefly; I'm a badass Network Administrator with tons of experience and a laid back attitude. If you're talking Active Directory networks with thousands of users, there's few things I scratch my head at these days, core installs and up. Quite frankly, if it's anything computer related, I'll likely have it figured out in a few days of research. All that I'm I'm not riddled with aspergers weirdness. I like beer, chicks, guitars, and technology. I also need to get the hell out of Ohio. If anyone needs me on the west coast (preferably around Santa Barbara) or in Florida, hit me up. syl.cat AT gmail.com (I've got 3D modeling/animation, 2D animation, studio recording/mixing, and web design mastery under my belt too. Rock.)

Job 1 - I am in the early stages of looking of a PPC/Search Marketing Specialist. Our agency is located in Austin, Tx. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2-3 years of PPC experience, preferably more. Familiarity with website analytics (GA, Omniture, etc) a plus. Professionals only, unfortunately we do not have time to train this time around. Running your mom's $50 adwords account for her dog grooming business is not what we are looking for. Job 2 - We are looking for immediately fill a role for an SEO and/or Social Media Marketing specialist. On the social side: Having a facebook account does not make you an expert. We are looking for someone with decent skills, is bright, and has at least a basic understanding of the integration social media and business. Being a twitter shitter does not mean anything to us unless you can clearly articulate what the ROI would be to a potential client. We recognize that this is a new field so a smart person with a good understanding of the universe and a limited resume will still be considered alongside someone with a more extensive "professional" background. One the SEO side: Looking for someone with some experience. We have signed contracts and we need to hit the ground running. Experience working with big companies (and the horrors that go along with that) a preference, but not a requirement. A passion for the field is a must. You will need to grow into a client-facing position with a year or two, but that is not a requirement at the outset. PM for details. Tai-Pan fucked around with this message at 00:43 on Mar 21, 2009 |

MS in Biochemistry in central PA 3 years +/- lab experience, mostly DNA extraction/purification, PCR, two hybrid analysis, and TEM work. Researched, designed, and conducted experiments. One semester Teacher's Assistant. Left because I didn't see myself living the life of the PhDs I knew. 1.5 years as inspecting raw chickens for the USDA and enforcing regulations. Job requires good attention to detail and the ability to focus on one thing for long periods. Want to leave because it just isn't stimulating enough and I'm on night shift. Not entirely sure what I'm looking for, but I like the parts of my job where I get to enforce regulations and I liked the parts of the previous job where I had to keep learning new things. ~33k + medical

Looking for a job I've got a B.A. in History, graduated from the University of Maryland about 7 months ago, and have been working as a manager at what was until then my summer job ever since. Technical information (not the same thing as information technology), analysis, or research are probably the best way to describe the skill set from my education (Some of my supporting education is in communications/international relations). The kennel manager position... well, it's definitely given me experience with managing in a small team project sort of environment, as well as dealing with the needs of my employees and higher management. I'm basically looking for ANY field I can stretch those qualifications to cover. My preferences are for something career oriented. I'm in Maryland, but am willing to move. If you know of any jobs or have any advice, I'm all ears at this point. (If you just want to tell me I should have majored in something other than history... thanks, I figured that out) NewsMonster fucked around with this message at 23:29 on Apr 19, 2012 |

Looking for job and looking for partner [London only please] I am an ideas and answers person. If you have any job that needs thinking, I can probably do it, and I'm a fast learner. I have a geology degree and can do intermediate level maths, physics and chemistry. I am artistic and literate and good with Photoshop. Any appropriate job in London, even if it is relatively menial, please get back to me at tmpsotw at hotmail dt com. Part Two: Looking for web design expert in London area for innovative project. Crossposted from SA Mart I have some innovative website design ideas that require some crazy programming skills that I don't have, so I am looking for someone to collaborate with me. I can do research, marketing, graphics, sample data, etc, just no way I could learn all the programming knowledge that some of you guys have sitting there unused. The ideas have so far been developed as an improved website for a major poker magazine, which the editor liked very much, but that the publisher rejected as the magazine only has two IT personnel so they would have been unable to implement it, but the unique design elements can be adapted for a range of website purposes. I'm obviously not going to tell everyone here the specifics, I would like to talk them through in person, but here are some general things you must be able to make: Objects that can be dragged and dropped by website users resulting in database alteration. Interactive mini-programs (can probably be done in flash). Possibly creation of user-side program installation. When developed, the designs can either be sold to other companies or used as templates to base commissioned websites around. I would prefer someone in London so we can discuss everything in person. I have no capital, so this is something that we will have to work on while doing other things for income, at least until it is ready to be sold. If you think you may be able to collaborate, please e-mail me at tmpsotw at hotmail dt com. Please make sure you can do at least the three things specified above!

I posted this here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3075135&pagenumber=4 but felt it should be reposted here due to the nature of this thread: REPOST: I feel lovely for all you out of work, one industry I haven't seen discussed much here is the pro A/V world, we are always hiring either for full time or freelance. It might not be your ideal career but it is a fun one and tends to pay a little better for entry level than direct IT work. (I've made anywhere between 14 - 28 an hour and up to 600 a day for freelance, now I do have years of experience but 14/16 an hr is pretty standard for entry level). There is also a big transition in our industry becoming computer/IP based. I run a 30 million dollar A/V system that's completely IP based, without my experience at Microsoft I'd be screwed... Well, here's some of the US companies but these are national, if you're in a big metro area there are probably a bunch of local companies too like when I was in Seattle I worked for the A/V Factory, they have (had?) the Seattle convention center contract, that kept us pretty busy... http://www.fordav.com http://www.whitlock.com http://www.swankav.com (these are the ones off the top of my head) here's an international group that is US/Europe/Asia based: http://global-presence.org/ hope this helps someone!
