Seems to align really heavily with some of the slower old country music of like the 1930's to 1950's, but with an entirely different vocal style. There's hella filtering on it too as far as I can tell, so I dunno if I could give you anything that really sounds like it.

However, and I'll say this is just my take on it, in terms of it being a very relaxed kind of tone, evoking a sort of tropical theme, I'm gonna go with old Spanish guitar.

Not bad shouts, thanks! If anybody thinks of anything else, let me know.

It's a tough nut to crack because a lot of artists make songs like this as like their one-off, or it's part of a song, it's not really that sustainable to have that be your whole sound. For example, something like it is found in the intro and chorus of songs going as far back as Curtis Mayfield's Move On Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z66wVo7uNw. Even that though isn't really that high a tempo or that level of intensity over the whole song. There are bands that that use horns a lot and are high intensity, like Soil and Pimp Sessions, but that's more jazzy. So I guess the question is how far off the point are you willing to go, because that sound is pretty specific and bands generally try to not be derivative.

Another good example of this type of sound that I'm unsure how to classify is Parachute's "Something To Believe In" which, appropriate to your point, is a one-off vis a vis the usage of the sound. In that particular case there's also some gospel feeling vocals in there too.

Both of those songs share an element of having a driving rhythm that pushes a relatively laid back verse leading to an explosive chorus. It's a tried and true structure for making rock anthems. It's used all over the place, so if you loosen up your requirement of horns, you'll find a lot of that. It's just upbeat and uplifting. Ignoring the horn, if you split the difference between those songs you get something along the lines of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKsxPW6i3pM

Nahh, Zapp's style honestly relatively restrained, where moving forward from Zapp you get Dam-Funk today. I want funk bass that is just balls out stupid fun that feels like it's not held to much structure. To make an analogy to another genre, if More Bounce To The Ounce is Slow Ride by Foghat, then what I'm looking for would correspond to Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan. I dunno if that makes it more or less clear but that's how it is in my mind. Slow Ride is a very structured song where Pride and Joy just feels like SRV is going out there having fun and expressing the happiest freedom that he can.

Ya know what? Taking a listen at this and the other stuff you've mentioned, and now thinking about it more, I'm startin to think that the reason Bootsy and the rest didn't appeal to me as much is just because the recordings I'm listening to are set up for the bass to be de-emphasized relative to vocals and guitar and stuff. Maybe I can just take that stuff and use a heavy bass equalization??? Cause a lot of the time if you listen to just the bass, the style is there, it's just that the instrument isn't as prominent as I'd like.

I'd say that's a good approximation and it might just be that it's a sound that people to get into, but it's not really something you can blow out with every song cause then it's just like a bassist and their band. But yeah, Jamiroquai definitely has some of it with Butterfly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKYZr0xlkig for example. I find it's hard to get though without it leaning into feeling like it's too disco with that 4 on the floor beat or not upbeat/happy enough, like Butterfly. But yea what you all listed is some good poo poo and a decent amount I hadn't remembered and some I hadn't heard of.

Well that'll get you one or two albums, but in my experience gifting people music is tricky because they may already have those albums. Another option you could go with is to buy something based on them being a guitarist. If it was me, I'd just get them some relatively expensive guitar strings because they end up getting used, or at least tried. If you are interested in that route, you just need to know if they play acoustic or electric.

I dunno dude, maybe I fuckin' do

LOONA is a 12-member group with each girl being debuted individually over the course of a year along with subgroups being debuted before they ever debuted a song that used all 12 members at once. In doing this, they released songs that cover a huge range of moods and styles, but with really high quality production. The wide range means you might not like all of the songs, but you're likely to find at least something you like. Their name is a reference to their debut scheme, as they are also called "Girl of the Month". I won't bother describing the tone or style of these songs, but they're some of my favorites.

I'll Be There https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKybkK2gj1U
Rosy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYcYzBPAp_k
Puzzle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ln1SCbZ8cE
Heat/9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHktES0-tB4

Red Velvet is another concept group that uses their name as part of the concept, where they have songs that are "red" for songs like Russian Roulette https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QslJYDX3o8s or Dumb Dumb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGdbaEDVWp0, or "velvet" for songs like Automatic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px2Q47O0_eE or Bad Boy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_CFBjAyPWE. They combine these to make songs like Peek-A-Boo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uJf2IT2Zh8.

You've also get musicians that actually write their own music, such as...

Akdong Musician, who are a siblings that won a show similar to "American Idol" but for getting into the Kpop industry, at the ages of 17 and 15, and then wrote and produced their first album by themselves. The music tends to be playful and is largely written by the older brother, but with a focus on the younger sister's very good voice. Here's a song called 200% https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Oi8jDMvd_w

Heize writes her own stuff and it tends to be mostly influenced by hip hop/r&b. Here's Jenga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw_HR9jIJww and And July https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCeM57e2BfU. If you like her, check out her collab with GroovyRoom, who are a production duo that makes very groovy stuff, and Jay Park https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKv2ocGhCpY. Here's another more funky collab https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npxqg9p1Q94.

IU is very popular and originally didn't write her own music, but now she does. Here's Palette https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9IxdwEFk1c and BBIBBI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM0xDI5R50E, both of which were written by her.

Bolbbalgan4 is a duo that would be more like.. folk pop almost? All I can really say is that they're good and that Ahn Jiyoung has one of the best and most unique singing voices in Kpop in my opinion. Here's a song called Some https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZmoMyFXDoI

Most of what I've listed so far is from female artists, because I find they generally focus more on their vocal skills and interesting compositions, which is what I like, but maybe you like dude voices more? Here's some stuff

Runnin' with Henry Lau primarily and Sistar's Soyou backing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niMCsodCAU0

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not is a duet between Taeil and Sejeong of gugudan. Taeil's high range is pretty nuts, here it is performed in one take https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBnxOIjExHs

Thought Of You by John Park is pretty drat smooth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLmOezNMPnY

Hope this helps bruh
