I just recently became a huge fan of The Paper Chase. I really dig the nice blend of the experimental and the listenable. Any other avant-garde bands that aren't just weird for the sake of it? Other favorite experimental (some more than others) bands of mine: Refused, Cursive, Arcturus, At the Drive-in, Man Man, and Tomahawk. I know this is a pretty scatter shot list and I'm sure I'm stretching the term "experimental" but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, I'm familiar with most of the associated acts and side projects of the bands listed. Like: The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Fantomas, Mars Volta, etc.

Thanks, you nailed it! I've never been big into Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Though I like the song you posted, that album feels like it's made up of at least 50% ambient noise which really turned me off. The other three all sound great, The Book of Knots in particular, and I'll definitely be picking up some albums soon.

Can anyone recommend songs similar to Tourette's by Nirvana?

That song has a pretty punk feel. Maybe some Dead Kennedys?
