Nujabes is blowing my mind, looking for anything similar. Jazzy hip-hop I guess. Only other things I've checked out are Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, DJ Krush.

Cool, thanks. I'm coming from an electronic music background, lot of deepish stuff so anything mostly instrumental or jazzy is cool with me. With Nujabes, I heard luv(sic) part 3 and I was just blown away. Also "think different" off modal soul, the background instrumentals are amazing

Yes I'm familiar with him, probably like Los Angeles the best. I do wish the tracks were a little longer though.

cool, thanks for the links! some of the stuff on the album also has a definite synth-pop and italo-disco vibe. that seems to be what the label (italians do it better) is focused on. I only found out about this because of the soundtrack from drive. I definitely need stuff that has a lot of electronic elements in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4NKuYZMyx8 the song from drive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K7rmxjk5RQ actionjackson fucked around with this message at 18:13 on Oct 24, 2020 |

thanks! edit: apparently this label is the "biggest" vaporwave one and all the releases are either free or a dollar https://dmttapes.bandcamp.com/music actionjackson fucked around with this message at 18:09 on Nov 10, 2021 |

that 2 8 1 4 album is cool, thank you. Definitely mainly focused on more of an ambient vibe I noticed a lot of the same spacing, is that some vaporwave thing? like 2 8 1 4 same thing on the hallmark '87 album https://hallmark87.bandcamp.com/album/a-t-r-i-u-m

I really like the title track on this album (#8), and also #3 and #4. very broken beat-ish (I'm sure he's influenced a lot by dubstep and garage) with some nice female vocals. anything similar I should look for? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hp2F29zktk

drat onyx was cool as hell I really like jazzy and instrumental hip-hop stuff, anything I should look at besides tribe, j dilla, nujabes, dj shadow? I really love this album, but I think it's extremely rare, there's only one copy of it in any format on discogs. But this is the closest to what I'm looking for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mHrYNZqWLk
