I just heard Bedouin Love Song by David Broza on SkyFM, and it's one of the coolest songs I've heard in a while, and I would love to hear more like it. So I guess I'm looking for high-energy music with a middle eastern hebew/arabic sound. Edit: And can anyone figure out what album that rendition is from? Neither me nor the YouTube uploader seems to be able to. And in the same vein I recently came across Shpongle, and I really dig the ethnic sound it has going on. Can anyone recommend other electronica (or other "modern genres" or whatever you want to call it) that incorporates ethnic instruments? And posting a new request that's hard to find anything on: I'm looking for fast-paced spanish guitar type music like the Ace Combat Zero theme or the middle of Neal Morse's The Conflict (can't find a sample on youtube, so I guess you're lost unless you've heard it). Basically the energetic kind, not the melancholic stuff. Accompaniment, like in the Ace Combat Zero theme, is a great bonus.

I'm looking for high energy/intensity acoustic guitar music. The only real example I can think of Shir Ahava Bedoui/Bedouin love song by David Broza. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17r9JoG_If4 Right around the 3:50 mark is the epitome of what I'm talking about. Just great stuff that pumps you up. It doesn't need to be middle eastern inspired music, but I really love the sound. Sorry that I can't name more examples. I've heard more examples, but I rarely catch or remember the name of them. Edit: And I'll be grateful for any general recommendations for good hebrew/arabic/middle eastern music. I'm looking for concept/storytelling albums in the vein of Hadestown by Anaďs Mitchell and The hazards Of Love by The Decemberists. It doesn't have to be folksy or even indie, but no awkward prog metal please. Good prog metal is fine, it's just that there's so much loving awkward prog metal that tries to tell a story. Mix of male and female vocals is ideal. Oliver Reed posted:Any suggestions for instrumental*, beautiful, ethereal-sounding electronic albums? A song by Kwoon popped up on my weekly Spotify and now I'm craving some really pretty, sad and melancholic post-rock. Unclear, mumbly or floaty vocals, or just instrumental. Always appreciate something with a good buildup. Less hopeful than Sigur Ros. If heavy, still harmonic. Good for depression, but sit-and-be-sad depression, not get-the-anger-out depression. A dark, melancholic, somewhat angry but not furious tone. A source of catharsis for grim feelings without being cheesily dark. 3. Gritty vocals and clean vocals intertwined. Most obvious comparison is Isis, which is similar to CoL, but more everyday listening. Faves from the Cult is their newest album A Dawn to Fear and the older Somewhere Along the Highway, but I like them across the board. https://open.spotify.com/album/5wF8QXoGV5Woz6EzfZjMZC?si=OAZnofi-R0aMY2Jcez7t3w https://open.spotify.com/album/23ISdAi8LzEGzhYETnQe8Q?si=F-CEiQUwSMCFbgZXBuiuMA
