So I found these songs. It's like a sort of glitchy shoegaze type thing? I like this song and this band and this album a lot. But it's the glitch sounds that really got me hooked. So, I guess, I'm asking for other artists that do another genre and incorporate glitch sounds into it. That'd be swell, tia.
How about 65daysofstatic? Or perhaps Sufjan Stevens' album Enjoy Your Rabbit?

So yeah. I don't even want to hear an exact soundalike, just something with the same kind of excited, lo-fi, tense/noisy/beepy-bloopy sort of intensity about it. Help

After checking your post history, I guess you might be familiar with all these, but check out Ponytail, early Deerhoof, Brainiac, and xbxrx.

Deerhoof is a cute band that I like but I haven't heard anything earlier than Reveille. Any particular album from that area?

I listened to a few Ponytail songs on youtube... that guitarist is super cool but is the singer that annoying in all of their songs? I'm a Mae Shi fan, I obviously have a high tolerance for grating singers, but I listened to "Beg Waves" and "Easy Peasy" and the singer just made me feel tired after a while.
Well, I guess I'd consider Reveille to be pretty early on, but try the album before that, Halfbird. It's more spastic and noisy.

Regarding Ponytail, yeah the singer is annoying. I can't really listen to them much because of that, but I figured maybe you had a higher tolerance for that bullshit.

The closest I can think of is probably The Number 12 Looks Like You. Also maybe Dance Gavin Dance or Alexisonfire, but I don't really listen to them so I'm less confident in the recommendation. Tom just joined the band Chiodos on guitar so probably be on the lookout for new material from them.

Even though they're quite a bit softer than Fall of Troy, I feel like I have to mention Faraquet, probably my favorite post-hardcore band. Their complex guitar work reminds me of Fall of Troy for sure.

Lately I've been bingeing on a band called Adebisi Shank. I love math rock of all sorts, but I am especially enamored with they way they manage to be rhytmically complex while still writing really catchy, dancy material. Best example of this is probably the end of Genki Shank.

There are a couple of bands they get compared to who occasionally hit similar grooves, namely Battles and Giraffes? Giraffes! (a bit more of a stretch on that one.) Even some mathcore bands like Rolo Tomassi can hit the sorts of grooves I am looking for with their breakdowns.

May be a small niche, but any help finding more hard, syncopated, and mathy grooves along those lines would be greatly appreciated. Bonus points for heaviness and/or dissonance.

You're looking for Cinemechanica. The Foals album Antidotes also reminds me of Adebisi Shank a bit, but they're hardly math rock. Whatever, maybe you'll like them. Or maybe DDMMYYY (math rock band names are stupid!!)

Chll Pll and other various Zach Hill projects might be something you're interested in, but they get a little more "out there" than the stuff you've posted.

Lastly, Zu. They're very heavy, very dissonant, and definitely syncopated. Also the sax + distorted bass combo is just so loving cool. that song actually ends like halfway through the video fyi

Recently I've discovered the album "Spiderland" by Slint and found out about its' "unsung classic" status. So I guess what I'm asking is if there are other records from the 1990's that have this label. They don't have to sound like Slint (I'd prefer they not, if just for variety's sake), but if anybody could make suggestions along the vein of "record that should have been a bigger deal and is now considered a classic" from that period, I'd be rather grateful.

Here's a few more if you haven't had enough yet-
Bark Psychosis - Hex; one of the earliest post-rock albums, along with
Talk Talk - Desire; I can't really talk about this album without mentioning the album that came before it, Spirit of Eden (but it came out in 88). Beautiful albums, and even though they're listed alongside Slint when talking about 90's post-rock, they really sound nothing alike and come from totally different scenes.

Well, Fennesz and William Basinski are the two big names often mentioned in the same breath as Tim Hecker, but I'm not familiar enough with their work to give any specific album recommendations. Perhaps someone else in the thread could chime in there. Also, Tim Hecker has quite a large body of work, so he should keep you busy for quite a long while.

I'd also like to recommend Oneohtrix Point Never (Daniel Lopatin). Although much of his work is more structured and beat-oriented, it shares many qualities with Tim Hecker's (they've even collaborated on some projects). I was planning on recommending something to start with, but then I read the post linked at the top of o.m.'s excellent thread. Krangdar does a great job of summarizing, so pick what appeals to you and give it a listen. And if you decide you want to jump down the greater rabbit hole of experimental electronic music, that whole thread is probably the most densely packed with information on a specific genre as I've seen on this subforum.
