Job Seeker

My Experience: Master's in cs, 5+ years in an academic lab (computer vision/ml, but haven't really used anything more modern than like 2013ish in that regard recently - fundamentals are still fine) 4 years industry as mid backend engineer / data engineer (primarily java 8 + spark).

What I'm looking for:Anything backend engineering; flexible on stack as long as the role is okay with me only really having used java @ anything large/industry scale. Would prefer mid-level, but would consider jr positions depending on factors.

What I'm NOT looking for: Frontend; flexible on full-stack but I have almost zero js exp.

Where I live: NYC

Where I'm looking: Remote | NYC (open to relocation when things are a bit safer if it is a fit)

When I can start: immediately

Requirements: Given the state of things, not many other than remote for the short-term future. very flexible on pay, but do need medical

Contact: PM or jonathan poock at gmail

Got laid off in one of the rounds last year and ... haven't even gotten a phone screen from anywhere this year? I know things aren't *that* bad.
My experience: ~10 years industry, ~6 in academic cs (computer vision/generalist ML stuff), master's in cs - primarily a lot of big data / pipelining work recently (Spark, Java/Scala, some Python); reach out for a resume
What I'm looking for: remote backend/data engineer role - ideally mid-sr. IC track, not manager
What I'm NOT looking for: in-person, frontend
Where I live: NYC
When I can start: immediately
Requirements: i'm immunocompromised so remote is a hard requirement, unfortunately.

This was mine as well. Over a thousand applications with 20 years of experience, with the last 10 being in director/management, and only ended up with like 3 callbacks over the course of 7 months.

It's really bad out there :smith:

It's so bizarre! I've never had *this* pattern happen.
Thanks to everyone who reached out, really appreciate it.

Not to derail the thread but they're already dogfooding synthetic data and faking presentations. It's coming baby. And it's gonna be loving hilarious.

It's kind of incredible that we're already seeing instances of generated data poisoning other models so rapidly, but in retrospect, I did not expect the absolute loving unhinged scale at which any random person would be deploying these things without a thought or care
