If you wanted to buy the other games, the hassle of getting ToEE to work on Windows 7, find the dics, etc... That's worth the ONE CENT price to not worry about it.

Price went up one cent, so it was actually like giving him a cent to take a copy of ToEE.

It's a quirk of the math because ToEE has a lower base price of $5.99 but carries the same 5% discount as the others. Buying the other 8 without ToEE is actually more expensive than with it.

It's a little strange when the price barely changes removing the one or two things you don't want, but basically it's because with the accumulated discount on the total sum the stuff you didn't really want ends up really really cheap.

Yeah, Thief 3 isn't heavy on the undead stuff though they do appear in a couple of places.

As a big fan of the series, I must say that the best of the games is Thief Gold played on expert difficulty (which gives you extra objectives and even access to different areas in levels). That said, I did have to work my way around to appreciating it properly by playing through Thief 2 to satisfy my desire for city based missions first. Thief Gold also comes into its own when you've built up the skillset the game offers you to tackle the higher difficulty settings.

Speaking of Thief, I remember people talking about how Thief 1 was designed with the objective in mind, and then the map after. While Thief 2 was designed with map first and then objective later. Does anyone have a link to where this is mentioned/addressed?

That was Randy Smith in the Making of Thief 2 video, which was included as an extra in the Gog.com version.

Edit: Can also be seen here on Youtube.

I guess anyone wanting to pick up any of the Square Enix games in the sale should do it now. I've got my eye on Startopia and Urban Chaos. Is Blood Omen 2 worth picking up to complement the Legacy of Kain games?

BTW, can anyone recommend me other similar games? Horror FPS-games, that is. Amnesia is just too intense for me, need something with a little more cozy atmosphere. Wasn't there a game called something with "haunted house" or "haunted mansion"?

Vampire: Bloodlines and The Darkness 2 might be worth a look.

Looks like all the deals of the sale are running for the longest day of the year. Which I think is great cause you can buy any of the bundles you want now and then pick up any individual games on sale without having to wait til the last day to see if it'll be on a daily.

Kinda want a DRM free version of Spelunky (I like having these indie games available on my laptop) but also want the daily challenge stuff. Anyone know when it's supposed to be available on the Humble Store beyond "shortly after"?

Dave Angel

The hope has always been that Gog would be able to get the LucasArts catalogue on there and get the full range of the older titles available, none of the games are on there currently. The older X-wing / Tie Fighter games will take a bit of work to get running on modern machines which is what Gog specialises in, along with packaging it up into a nice installer. I don't think they could even be released on Steam in their original form unless someone is willing to put in that legwork.

Brave new worlds gave me Rise of the Triad (the new one) for 4.99, so looks like the random gift prices will match any daily deals for the game.

To add to the list, I've had Shadowrun Returns for 40% off and InFlux for 75% off on Brave New Worlds.

Brave New Worlds yielded me Don't Starve for $4.99, which I didn't have, which was nice.

Which other genuinely old games are people still hoping to see show up on GOG?

Drakan: Order of the Flame is my personal pick. I have fond memories of clambering around its Tomb Raider era caverns and flying through the skies with my dragon buddy Arokh. The Westwood Blade Runner adventure game would be nice too.

Yep, that's the guy. He went to see the new Sherlock game at E3 this year and it was shown to him by the same woman in this story, too. But the dude is SO PSYCHED by these games that I wanna know if they're any good or not. :(

I really enjoyed the 3D ones I've played (Awakened, Nemesis, Jack the Ripper, haven't gotten round to Testament yet), but I played Secret of the Silver Earring to completion and found it incredibly dull.

Misremembering I think, I recall passing on it initially thinking it would be cheaper in a subsequent sale. Isthereanydeal.com also records 25% as its biggest discount a day ago.

Nope, price doesn't change. Reason is that all the titles he wants are recent releases (in terms of being new on GOG.com) so have smaller discounts, while the ones he has have been on the site for a while and seen the odd Christmas sale bundle, etc, so enjoy heavier discounts.
