Yesterday,
Zixxer: I put a coat of paint on the tail section, cleaned the throttle tube, and washed the bike.
Beamer: Replaced a screw that rattled out of the tail light.
Toyota: Drove it to Jack-in-the-box.

I sold the BMW, so I still have the ZX6R for road duty.
I still haven't decided between dirt bike, Supermoto track bike, and Supermoto street bike.

I'm really hoping to find a KTM 450 enduro converted to SM with both sets of wheels (in my price range). Then I get all three in one! Spiffness keeps trying to convince me to get a Husky 610SM so I can get arrested with him.

To be honest I don't know why this is the 'proper' way to dismount. I'm guessing it has to do with being able to jump away if the jiffy fails to hold up the bike. I'll ask my instructor the next time I see him. :)

The what now?

Valve adjustment, 1800 miles. One intake and one exhaust out of spec. I'm really glad changing shims doesn't require pulling the cam shafts.

Not quite, dropped it while lifting the stand up. It's good practice for the Husky though, it needs to get mentally prepared for the 5 to 6 crashes it sees every weekend.

I cracked the front brake reservoir, and snapped off it's mount during a low side yesterday. I repaired it in about 15 minutes with rtv, electrical tape, zip ties, saftey wire, and a liberal application of hope.

Ouch, I know how that feels. Your ankle looks intact, It doesn't look like much swelling considering how far out of place things are. Hopefully that's an indication you didn't do much tissue damage. I had a similar injury, and internal bleeding nearly cost me the use of my ankle.

I got the DRZ insured and inspected, then put on the Edge tail light I got along with my actual license plate, and removed the toolkit pouch. I tried to de-decal it, but found out that the ones on the tank are apparently under the clearcoat. So now if I remove all but those it'll look even stupider than it already does. :( Also, the connectors that come with the Edge kit are awful and I'm going to redo it as soon as I get somewhere to buy new ones (plus I still need to connect the signals). That said, it looks good.
You could get one of these in white.

Which should save some weight compared to the stock steel tank to boot, (excluding the weight of the additional fuel you might be carrying.

Of course if you start throwing too much money at a DRZ you'll wind up kicking yourself for not getting a Husky or KTM.

KTM knowledge bomb

I bought the bike last week, it came with a Leo Vince pipe installed and supposedly had the Akramap. I don't think there is anyway to verify that myself though, maybe I'll have the dealership look at when I take it in for the foggy gauge cluster.

I think I'll keep the stock pipe on because the straight through was a little too loud. I don't really need everyone within six blocks to know how far open the throttle is. :haw: I am interested in smoothing out the unloaded->loaded transition though. I couldn't possibly make it any worse!

690SMC update! Swapped the stock Pirelli Dragon Pros out for a set of Maxis supermoto dot rains. By my math that lowered the front end by 24mm, and the rear end by 27. So it should be slightly more stable I guess. For some reason it was all dry in Seattle tonight, so I didn't get to see how much better they do in the wet.

120/70 160/60 to 120/60 165/50 Who want's to check my math?
