A middleground between Horrors of Porn and WTF, DND - Is the world ready?! IS IT?! I think Zack already did a one man commentary of this, or something similar. It must have been many years ago, but I distinictly remember some tidbits such as "all elves are bisexual" and spells that damage creatures when they have an orgasm. Anyway, both of these articles were some of the best I've read in months. I've never been able to convince my friends to play DnD, but I bet they would be more willing if they saw how chill and ridiculous the first addition was. Seems like people took it alot less seriously back then. Which edition were those "flumph" guys added? They are like big hovering saucer things with eye-stalks. I saw a picture of them once and thought they were just wonderful

Not only is it a very humorous article, but it also adds weight to the theory that Zack has written about every topic, ever.

oh no, poor Deatharm So when you die in DnD, that is it? You just have to scrap the character you have been working on? god drat that is harsh. What if your character dies while playing with one group of people, can you use that character if you play with a different group? Or will that ruin your DnD cred? DnD culture fascinates me, keep up the good work Zack and Steve!

I wonder if the illustrator for some of the images is the same guy who did that Doom comic. Guile's bizarre circulatory system looks awfully familiar...

I'm also a tree demon. Hilarious update, I really hope Raven McCraken responds. Seems like a rad dude.

According to the Wikipedia entry, Synnibar also features giant mutant fire clams and flying grizzly bears that shoot lasers out of their eyes. Those are almost as badass as the puking gravity lizard. Also the worldship is actually Mars!!

Closet Cyborg posted:The only way the adventures could get better would be if Steve ran the module with Zack, Dr. Thorpe, and Livestock in a party. That would be a dream come true! Don't get me wrong, Zack and Steve are a hilarious team by themselves. But it would definitely be an interesting experiment to run a module with some of the other writers, even if it is only a one-time thing. Or maybe Steve's friend Keith could swing by.

One stupid thing I miss about Magic in those days was the flavor text. I remember they used to use all sorts of sources for flavor text, like native american mythology, the bible, arabian proverbs, classical literature, etc. Or they would make up a little back story for the card. But as time went by it seemed like Wizard was trying to create a narrative out of the cards, as if anyone cares about the generic fantasy world of MTG. Also I always thought that guy's fingers were melting in the Counterspell artwork. They made the spell effect the same color as his skin...
