Gunslinger was good to read, but personally I found that the promise of what was yet to come in the sequels that was most exciting. Of course, it was good because I was still pretty young, and Wizard and Glass was the latest installment. Although really, they are just stories. I didn't find the rest of them to be terrible, just not what they could have been.
