QUESTION ABOUT REAL ESTATE AGENTS: can you have multiple agents at the same time like porn stars, or are they like sports agents where you're only supposed to have one at a time?

So I'm reading up about this $8000 tax credit going to people who buy a house before December 1st. What counts as the date of purchase? I'm told escrow lasts 45-60 days. Is the date of purchase the beginning or the end of the escrow period?

Hey, is Lending Tree a good place to get a refi? I'm 4 years into a 20 year mortgage at 5.5%

Okay as it turns out I have a leaky faucet on my kitchen sink. There's a pinhole in the neck of the faucet that aerosol-sprays onto the sink. My inspector for the refinance is coming tomorrow afternoon. How big of a deal is a leaky kitchen faucet in the value of my home? Is it worth going to home depot at 6AM and trying to replace myself, or not a big deal and something I can fix later?

Refinancing in progress. I'm in California. They assessed my home and found that the value went up. They are raising my monthly taxes from $200 to $250. Some people are telling me that my taxes shouldn't be rising, and other people are telling me that they normally do. Anyone have a definitive answer?

Yeah our state's hosed. I'm already hoarding dry food and water for the coming Mad Max apocalypse. Thanks for the info!

Okay so I refinanced. I got something in the mail saying that I should send them $50 to get a Declaration of Homestead to protect my equity in the home in case I ever fall on hard times. Is this worth getting?

Are we in another housing bubble? People are suggesting I sell right now because they think the housing market's going to crash again https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-10-15/housing-prices-may-have-entered-a-cyclical-downturn

I'm not sure where else to ask this: I'm on the HOA for a small 12 unit condo. One of our residents keeps bringing work trash to our dumpster, which sometimes overfills it which results in us getting extra trash fees. I've sent him a letter with fines for the last two incidents. In the letter I said that if he doesn't pay the fine, we will place a lien on his home. At the same time, his mortgage company is asking us for documents and for us to fill out a form so that he can get a refinance. Can I tell his mortgage and escrow that we won't cooperate until he pays the fines? Or am I obliged to cooperate with his refinance and deal with his trash problem separately?
