He looks far cooler in the video than in his Guardian profile. Fits his voice better too.

The nerve of that villa-support-crew chap posting negative poo poo about the GU hosts is beyond belief. That guy was absolute poo poo when he was on the pod. Dont let the posters have any power jimbo!

Roney's thoughts on N'Zogbia for England are worth a punt too.

Doesn't help that the two Jimbo-less have no Glendenning.

The replacement guy for Jimbo is pretty good, certainly better than ken early, and the cast today was pretty much the A-team (you could drop smyth for one of the johns). They're all a bit smug but at least they know what they're talking about, unlike glendenning or sean ingle

Barry Glendenning and Jimbo are the sole reason I listen to FW. I consistently skip weeks where they're not both there.

That combo is literally the only time I will ever listen to a football podcast

I reckon Ingle and Barry are so much easier to listen to without rolling yer eyes (particularly more than that loving twat Rob Smyth) than Thursday's contributors. Added to that that they seem to posess more charisma and charm than the guests yesterday, it made for a pretty dry show. The stand-in host wasn't bad, he existed, did his job, but I'm looking forward to AC Jimbo's return.

Smyth is by far my favourite football journalist at gu. His Joy of six are great and he is insightful and interesting. (I'm aware that he's a united fan and all that).
I we're talking twats Scott Murray deserves a mention.

tbh I don't know how anyone can stand Ingle, he's such an annoying contrary bastard, and you can tell he's the boss of most of the others. And his jokes...although at least he's made the move from awful jokes to 'ironic' awful jokes, which is a positive step I guess.

David Goldblatt, author of The Ball is Round: A global History of Soccer recently gave a talk at the London School of economics on global sport and global capitalism. I highly recommend it to everyone, as he discusses some critical issues in the game and covers a lot of geography in doing so. His style is a bit fiery but his rant on Tiger Woods is absolutely devastating. Check it out!

Is he the Ligue 1 specialist who predicted Utd would finish outside the top 4? He's alright, but as these two facts already indicate he's a little hard to take seriously

Finally gave the Football Ramble a listen today, after listening and loving FW weekly for 3 years I've not liked much else but I think I might like this better.
