Did the balljoint in the Focus.

Told the wife, "well, unless we buy a proper 1/2" drive torque wrench, I'm not sure I'll be able to get this done safely."

Needless to say, thank you wifey for the torque wrench (which will get a thousand actual uses soon..)

That's certainly possible - rockauto's cheapest knock sensor is still $65, and this one was $13 shipped on ebay. It's not showing a pending or stored P0325 yet.

The sensor I got is a private label from the seller I ordered it from, and they have an absurd amount of 99%+ positive feedback. Also has a 1 year warranty. I'll scan the ECU in a few days and see if it comes back. Even with the sensor disconnected, it's been getting horrible mileage - 19.8 MPG on this last tank... from a 4 cylinder in a compact car.

More of a midsize than compact. Sentra filled that spot.

It isn't brown and runny when it's first in there - iirc wheel bearing grease is usually green (remembering the Castrol buckets we used to sell - may have just been their brand). Not sure if they ever made anything CV specific though.

I'm sure Autozone will have it. Just read some labels and you'll find it.

Despite replacing both output shaft seals with new OEM seals, apparently my money pit has started belching gear oil out around the drivers side axle.

I need to find a good transmission shop and just get this drat thing rebuilt instead of rolling the dice on another used transmission. This one is only getting louder, I'm sure in no small part due to its apparent dislike of keeping the gear oil inside.

Did you get the special LSD axle seals? I know the LSD axles look different than the normal ones where they slide into the transmission.

While looking for the cause of some nasty vibration at idle in my friend's wife's '04 Focus (which I'm now thinking is the result of a shot passenger side motor mount) I found a classic case of leaking valve cover gasket caused the thermostat housing gasket to swell, cracking the housing and causing a leak. Also found he'd been driving for quite some time with a disconnected driver's side swaybar endlink, and was 3/16" away from the front brake pads making metal-on-metal contact.

The Focus motor mounts are shut. I've got a video of them on my wife's Focus that's :3:
