get_pages has an exclude option you can pass to it. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_pages#Parameters

That option is actually in the database. You can see what the current setting is with this query: select * from options where option_name = 'siteurl'; The value for option_value is what you'll need to updated.
