I'm trying to add a gradient background to my wordpress blog, which I assume is done through CSS? I'm trying to achieve such an effect: http://squampton.ca

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm a novice but hopefully with some documentation I can figure it out. I'm using this theme: http://www.lightword-theme.com/

I have a question about customizing a bbPress installation to visually match a Wordpress install. I have the latest Wordpress running and installed bbPress so they're sharing the same database and everything works in the backend but bbPress looks like the default install.

My question is, can I hire someone here to do that? Approximately how much time and cost would that incur? This is the theme I'm using with Wordpress: http://www.woothemes.com/2009/11/headlines/

My understanding is that it involves copying CSS from the Wordpress theme over to bbPress which is good since I don't have a lot of money to spend.

Thanks in advance

Does anyone have experience using BuddyPress along with Wordpress?

I want to integrate a discussion forum into my wordpress blog: https://www.chengduliving.com

I was originally planning to use bbPress but since it seems to be out of development it doesn't seem like a great idea in the long term.

My problem is that BuddyPress requires Wordpress MU and I'm on a regular WP install. Is there any way for me to integrate the two?

Does anyone here have much experience with making Wordpress sites in multiple languages? I'm wondering what the best way to do this is. The simplest solution (although not very elegant, perhaps) is two create two totally separate sites (each with their own databases) dedicated to a language with a button to toggle between the two. Aside from combining the two languages onto one site (which will get messy quickly) this is the only solution that I can think of.

Is there a better way?

Use the WPML plugin. Lets you have as many languages as you need. Create translations of posts/categories/whatever, allow users to toggle between them, etc.

Brilliant. Thanks

Question--how do I get a post's pictures to show in an RSS feed? Is this supposed to be automatic or do I need a plugin of some sort?

I don't have a plugin for that installed and images appear in my blogs RSS feed. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken but I think that should appear automatically.

I'm working on an index of China-related blogs and while I have most of the basic info down, I'm not satisfied with the homepage. What I'd like to do is list categories (travel, photos, etc) and beneath those have a slider that shuffles different links and descriptions around. Looking on CodeCanyon, all the sliders there are for images (featured post kind of deals).

Can anyone suggest a solution that I should check out? I've searched on Google and aren't sure where to find such a script.

Oh yeah, here's the site: https://www.chinabloggers.info

edit: I think this might be what I'm looking for although I'm still open to suggestions: http://www.appletcollection.com
