Congrats, SWATJester. I have been somewhat following this thread and I think I may register for the exam. Do you think I should register for the Feb. exam? I am leaning towards waiting for the next one so that I can better prepare, and because whatever I end up doing for my summer internship/fellowship will likely be very useful in the hiring process. How long do you have to wait to retake the exam if you fail?

Also the OA for the Feb dates is "Summer 2011" and I may be overseas depending on what summer internship I get.

Gotcha. I wasn't planning on using either for work stuff obviously, but was hoping to at least have them in the office for mp3s or to use on lunch break, etc. I know some people I can ask.

Can't believe I have less than a month before the FSOT. Haven't had much time to prep. Anyone have any good recommendation for biographies or documentaries on Netflix Instant Watch? Might be a good way to take study breaks, rather than watching crappy TV.

Hey Greencard, Every agency has their own suitability requirements in addition to clearance requirements. But you won't know unless you apply. For less serious offenses, time is seen as a healing factor. Thanks for the advice Dameius and nm. Are there any issues with using stories for the PNQs that you also may want to use for the OA? (ie do the OA guys have your PNQs at hand or are they totally separate processes?)

Really sorry that you guys didn't make it! QEP is so fuckin' weird. I was prepped for the worst after seeing the responses here because I feel several of you are more qualified/as qualified as me, but I made it through. Hopefully more goons will also. This was a Hail Mary for me, I guess I need to start prepping for the OA now.

It's not true for entry and mid level jobs either. I'm in grad school and to a person every single classmate of mine has been horrified when I've told them the starting salary range I'm looking at for federal jobs.

Eonwe - the QEP and the FSOA are the two biggest weeding out phases. This last phase that I went through, IIRC 27k took the FSOT, don't know how many passed, of those 9k were eliminated in QEP, and the pass rate at FSOA is historically around 30%.

I think I got very, very lucky in my group for the group portion of the assessment. We really rocked it. I personally felt that was the hardest part (because you can't prep for it) and also the part that I had the least control over.

Don't worry, I filled out my personal statement the night before too. Best of luck. I'm pretty sure there's a way to get at the Eqip through either OPM or DS if you do need to print an archival copy on site.
