I had a very good time in Barbados. You've kind of got to find your own fun once you get past the usual tourist stuff but you can do it if you try. Island Time is a real thing too so you have to be patient when your trying to get things done. Sometimes people stop in the middle of the road to chat with their friends going in the other direction. We had a great group of people while I was there but I've been told it's had periodic morale issues before and since due to poor management, not sure what it's like now. I never went to Trinidad but we had a few visitors come up our way and they were all pretty unhappy, it's just very poor and boring.

In 10 years I really haven't seen this. I can think of one individual who gave me that attitude and they were generally unpleasant anyway. Very few people really care about the distinction in my experience.

Transferring into a domestic position is a Kafkaesque nightmare and I've never been more appreciative of the LES who do this stuff for us overseas.

I finally got my FAN account working so can spend the pandemic looking at emails from the week in 2017 when people used FAN. I kid, they've actually improved it quite a bit. Google Meets is probably going to turn out to be very useful in coming days.

It wasn't really rolled out in the best way, and the communication hasn't been as clear as it could be. Won't really affect anybody coming in after January though. Sorry to vague post but I'm not completely up to speed on it.
