It isn't new, but Anterrabae's 2006 record "And Our Hearts Beat In Our Fingertips Without Reason" is now on streaming so I've been enjoying that this morning. Get your white studded belts out of the closet and enjoy

Reddit's metalcore subreddit has a relatively extensive weekly release thread.

Wish alot of other genres/sub genres would do the same.

The God Awful Truth put out a new single, Symbology, today from their upcoming album.

Video if for some reason that's your bag.

I dig it. More interesting than their last single from this album, The Rainmaker.

i was a bit lukewarm on them at first but they really grew on me. i saw foreign hands last weekend at one of the tiniest venues i've been to in such a long time - it was fantastic! they opened with their two newest songs and played another new one (the one that dropped today, i think) and it all sounded great, so i'm on board all the way.

Did skycamefalling’s 10.21 get a remaster? It popped up in my new releases section on Spotify yesterday and it was a nice reminder that 10.21 exists and still kicks rear end.

this is not going to be a popular take but after a few spins i think it's my least favorite KL project :-/ it's definitely got its moments but i don't like anything on here as much as i enjoyed the Upon Loss singles. everything after a tear in the fabric of life almost seems too produced and i don't enjoy the guitar tone they've landed on. bryan sounds loving great, though.

SchwarzeKrieg

I actually really like the production and think it sounds more organic & raw than ADSOB (plus that big PONGGggg-y snare is :perfect:). It may wear off me but I think it's easily their best full-length so far - Laugh Tracks and ADSOB both have an S-tier EP hidden in them but also drag in places, this is tight and inspired throughout. Pop Culture is probably still my favorite KL but this is right behind it so far.

Side note but I wasn't as big on A Tear in the Fabric of Life as most people. The atmosphere was great but it was lighter on the big dumb meathead stompy mosh riffs than I'd like. This feels like a perfect balance imo.

Friend sent me this. Contention - Artillery From Heaven

I'm having a hard time believing this wasn't actually written 20 years ago, just only recorded recently. Very, very, 2000s metalcore. It even has "grumpy old man" style movie quotes interspersed.

Edit: lolololol, there's even a W. Bush sample on it.

first 2 new DGD tracks without Tillian:

I'm into it. Backup guitarist obviously can't hit the same notes, but he's surprisingly solid on clean vocals, and the rest of the group is on point as usual.

oh man this guy doesn't know about Eidola what a treat

Andrew Wells is infinitely cooler than Tilian.

Tilian's vocals for the last like 3 or 4 albums consisted of like 24 stacked layers of his vocals with the most cringey loving lyrics possible. A far far far departure from his work in Tides of Man which were amazing.

I'd never heard of Eidola until very recently when youtube threw a track at me. Pretty good stuff. Don't wanna listen to a full album worth, but it works well sprinkled into a mix
