Just saw a story on Facebook of Haste the Day in the studio, so I guess we can look forward to that.

ShoogaSlim posted:bleeding through rerecord their best song for some reason but i ain't mad bc it sounds sick These rerecords never do it for me, no matter the band. I really like the "sloppy" sound of the original. E: I love hearing the drummer fighting for his life during the blast beats @ 1:26 on this one for example: https://youtu.be/grsFRl4N84Q Obv not the same album, but you get the idea chocolateTHUNDER fucked around with this message at 03:32 on Aug 17, 2023 |

Henchman of Santa posted:New Harm's Way is a pulverizer. It's alright, but I'm going to use this as an opportunity to say this: A lot of these bands need to find a way to put out more than one album every 3+ years. I'm not sure how you're supposed to create and maintain any sort of momentum when your fans have to wait so long between releases. Album release cycles are also usually when new fans discover a band, so it's a double whammy. I know Covid hosed up a lot of bands schedules, but come on:
Code Orange: 3 years Veil of Maya: 6 years (!!) Periphery: 4 years Darkest Hour: 6 years (and counting) Unearth: 5 years Despised Icon: 4 years (and counting) Bury Your Dead: 4 years since they released that EP (and counting) After the Burial: 4 years between last album and a few singles earlier this year These are just off the top of my head, but there are others also. chocolateTHUNDER fucked around with this message at 19:33 on Sep 29, 2023 |

Wamsutta posted:Yeah it popped up on my Spotify a couple of days ago and I listened to it and did a big "meh" and don't think I'll play it again. It wasn't as abjectly dogshit as their last single, but I think the band is cooked at least for me. Yeahhhh anything past "Get what you Give from all the way back in 2012 (lol ugh) is firmly in "meh" territory for me with TGI at this point. It's not bad, just does not do much for me.

Just got done listening to it. It feels like a direct continuation of Godless Prophets so…it’s pretty good. The vocals definitely drown out some of that sweet riffing underneath sometimes though.

Wamsutta posted:other than collateral i was hugely let down by that last EP of theirs tbh. i want bury you dead but only if they agree to pretend it's 2006, and not let DL produce it Lions for Lambs is my favorite off that EP, but Collateral is a jam also. They were supposed to follow it up with more music, but then everyone knows what happened after that…
