The hummingbirds finally found my feeder so I stuck my GoPro on it and surprisingly they weren’t bothered by it. It’s been a hoot watching them.

Hang around in person. Takes just a few minutes and they'll ignore you. I sit and watch mine in the mornings and the buzz around me inches away, especially if I wear red.

So, you want to try to capture that great morning light with the hummingbirds? gently caress you, the setup is too hard to get them in focus. Some good stuff anyway, including the effect of forcing the electric shutter at 1/10,000 of a second.

Deck birds. The Stellar's Jays are always a pain to shoot, they're so chicken. So, I wore a tan jacket with a camo hat and sat 15 feet away yesterday, and they could care less. I had always thought they were digging thru the seed for the sunflower seeds, but no, it's the whole corn kernels they go for. They'll empty that feeder, which holds 4 cups, in 5 minutes.

silly torgeaux, hawks can't play golf!

What a beauty, though. What kind of hawk?

I think it's a red-tailed. The chest is too light for a red-shouldered.
