I've had limited success with bird photos; it's the area in which I've had most disappointment, and I blame a lack of practice and a lack of patience. This is the one with which I'm most pleased. It was very tame, shot from about 2ft away with a 50mm held at ankle height.  Here's an old zoo one.

I made some photos of a heron fishing in a canal this weekend. I'm quite pleased with them. Full sequence here; I don't want to flood the thread.
