My questions:
- Has anyone here had laser eye surgery done?
Yes, at age 21
- Do they see as well as they did with glasses?
Slightly better during the day. I don't notice a difference at night, but a lot of people do. Maybe I just don't realize it?
- Does it hurt (before/during/after)?
No/There is some discomfort, but not pain/No (though your eyes may get very dry for a week or so which can be uncomfortable
- I've been told it messes with your night driving, is that the case?
They say you see "stars". You see these before surgery, but they are slightly exaggerated. I didn't notice a difference.
- Does it make working with a computer more difficult? (Using contacts slows down your blink rate which can cause dryness when working at a computer, did this happen to anyone?)
I haven't noticed anything. I had no problems with contacts though.
- Having done it, would you still choose to do it over again?
Yes, in a second.
- Is there anything bizarre (like your eyes falling out) that I should know about?
Nope. I had a great experience. Make sure you do your research on the doc. It is probably better to spend a bit more for a good doctor than go cheap. You keep those eyes for the rest of your life (hopefully)
Mods, if this belongs in The Goon Doctor (or anywhere else for that matter) just let me know and I'll lock it.
