Obama to require those reported for opposing health care bill to undergo "counseling" to correct their misconceptions. It feeds right into their view of Obama as an evil fascist, plus it builds on an already existing conspiracy theory.

Ok, here's what I got so far, I'm asking for input on this as I lack crazy conservative relatives to send me chain emails to use as a model. I have plenty of crazy liberal relatives, but that's a discussion for another time.

I just got off the phone with my cousin who lives in Washington DC. She works the General Accounting Office (they research the cost of all proposed government programs, among other things) and I'm still shaking. She was telling me that Obama just issued a directive to hire several thousand people as “councilors”. Now, these aren't to help people with emotional problems, no way.

Remember that website the Obama Administration set up to report people who disagree with the Obamacare plan? Well, now we know what they're going to do with that information. Obama is going to require all persons reported to undergo mandatory “counseling” sessions to correct their “misconceptions” about his plan. You'll be forcibly detained by federal agents, without committing a crime, and held indefinitely until you're deemed “cured” by your assigned counselor. No word on what they'll do with people who won't change their minds, but the death panels that Obamacare mandates gives you an idea.

Now we know why they are hiring all those “interment center” guards! This is real folks! And if you've publicly criticized Obamacare, you're going away for a long time! Time to start panicking!

I think it's kinda lame, but that's what 10 whole minutes of labor got me. So, too over the top, or is this what we're looking for?

EDIT: Also, I really have no way to get this into cirulation among the crowd we want it to circulate in. Like I said, I don't really have any crazy conservative relatives, and I'm not on any conservative forums. If I join now just to post this, it might look supicious. Does someone who's got an account as part of the Freep troll project want to use this? Let me know if you post it somewhere, or send it to someone, so we can watch and see if it takes off.

Maybe you don't know it, but LOUISIANA , TEXAS , OKLAHOMA , & ARKANSAS

No such treaty exists. And states don't have the right to secede. The Supreme Court and the Civil War say so.

I love how he thinks Houston Space Center can control all satellites and that everyone will support this mad little endeavor.

We should really start a drinking game. Take a shot every time a conspiracy theory email ends with "Support Rand/Ron Paul!"

Given that Ron Paul is the patron saint of wacky conspiracy theories, multiple goons would end up with acute alcohol poisoning.

I almost regret being careful who I give my email address to now, I have no crazy people to send me things to share.

So there are people that think the US is the only place where wheat is grown or something?

Apparently, I suspect the Ukrainians would quite offended, among others.

And pushing "1" for English is apparently an outrageous insult. And we have the typical hardcore conservative approach of solving problems by shooting them.

This always confuses me. Conservatives believe in the infallibility of the free market correct? Well isn't offering the phone call in another language just a company expanding its customer base and allowing for greater expansion and profits by catering to more people? That really is the free market at work, and any governmental restriction of this would be the government restricting the free market and go along the vague lines of their worst enemy: socialism. If that's the case shouldn't conservatives love the idea of Press 1 for English?

This is an excellent point and I'm going to use it when I argue with nativist types.
But really, they only support the free market when it doesn't infringe on their other beliefs. For example, the pornography industry produces billions a year, and there's something for everyone's taste, a shining example of the free market in action. I'm referring to adult porn here of course, not child porn. But conservatives would LOVE to shut down porn companies. If they really supported the free market and were against government interference in business, they'd be staunchly against any attempts to regulate or ban porn. As it stands, they rail against it and probably have a bigger porn collection than I do.

Sure, they can keep the military. Since engineers and scientists tend to be more progressively-minded, and progressives favor education far more than conservatives, the progressive nation's military will continue to advance and become more effective while theirs stagnates and becomes obsolete. And they'll find out progressives don't hate war when it's necessary, they just hate fighting needless wars, especially when they're based on lies.

And they'll exhaust their resources and have no replacements while the progressives will have plenty of energy to go around, perhaps they'll share.

That's just a small portion of what's wrong with this email. Others have already pointed out numerous other flaws in emails like this.

But when the progressives share, the others will pretend like the progressives were scared of their homesy know-how and fierce stupid military. So they'll think they won and made the progressives look like pussies. Like reagan's "TEAR DOWN THIS WALL" thing

Good point, we should change them ridiculously high rates then. They surely won't complain of this demonstration of the free market! Then, just to drive home the point we're not scared, let's drop a rock on Mississippi using a lunar mass-driver. Nobody should mourn.

I know right-wing types who actually feel that not being allowed to shoot people they personally disagree with is a horrible infringement on their rights. They view having their beliefs challenged as an attack that is no different from being shot at, and therefore, meriting armed response.

Banning all imports/exports is one of the only circumstances where companies would actually "go Galt" and relocate.

Not only that, but like the coffee example shows, where are the companies that do stay going to get all the resources they need to manufacture their goods? There are plenty of raw materials that can't be found, or found in the needed quantities in the US, like oil, for one. Enjoy that total economic collapse kids!
