see guys, you don't need video to make kick rear end films, you can do it with 18.5TB worth of stills. http://www.pdnpulse.com/2009/11/fantastic-mr-fox-movie-shot-with-nikon-d3s.html

Fantastic Mr. Fox was a really good movie and was shot using a variety of DSLRs. The coolest bit though is their crazy custom software to live stream the shots all on a network for Wes Anderson, the director, to view from anywhere.
Dude in the video sounds like a munchkin.

Trying to keep it short: I sold my first DSLR (Rebel XT) to my buddy from Florida who happens to be a skydive instructor. He used it mounted on his helmet to shoot skydivers in a free fall. The mounting plate detached when he opened his chute and both cameras (photo + video) took a fall from approximately 3000 ft. Amazingly, the Rebel survived the fall and my friend is still using it to this very day. It has a crack in the plastic body and the kit lens is a little jerky when zooming, but functional. I'd like to know if there is a similar story or something close to this but I doubt. It might me a world record indeed (for the height of a camera drop which survived). Kudos to canon!

70-year-old photographer makes a living shooting Polaroids in what are surely the most digital-camera-dense areas in the world.

quote:

Mr. Mendes plans to work the Rockefeller tree until Jan. 7, when it is scheduled to be taken down and turned to mulch. Then he will return to the sidewalk outside BH Photo or Adorama Camera. Taking pictures of people who already own cameras makes perfect sense to him, the guy with instant film and a classic rig in a sea of digital snappers.

“Most photographers don’t have a good picture of themselves,” he explained. “They think nobody can take as good a picture as they can. So, I prove them wrong. There’s good money there.”

Yeah I had trouble with that as well, ended up paying a coder friend of mine to pull random thumbnails from a dedicated folder.

From what I understand it's supposed to display thumbnails from blogposts, I've got a fairly basic understanding of webpage coding so a lot of it was waaaaay over my head.

Looks like you're using the same theme as http://www.boudist.com/ :)

I feel like I'm not making good use of the light during Golden Hour if I'm not using my camera, I spend ages staring at billboards/posters trying to figure out how the light was set up, I look at people on the street thinking how great it'd be to take their portrait under the current lighting conditions etc etc etc. :gbsmith:
