I picked up a 1994 model M still new in the box and that's been serving me well by annoying cubical neighbors for five years now. I even picked up a special adapter so I could hook it up to my USB KVM switch. Still runs like a dream, but when I eventually upgrade I'll probably get an Unicomp.

Question though, how loud are model M's supposed to be? Are they as loud as the old AT keyboards? I'm trying to figure out whether I have one of the enhanced quietkey models. It's still very loud, but nothing like the metal chassis circa 1980's AT keyboard I've got in my closet.

I had a hideous keyboard at work for about a month. Some OEM Compaq model that had a half sized spacebar and if I remember correctly an extra enter key where the other half of the spacebar should've been. I think that trumps any of you bitching about weird key locations.
