It's moderate quality food at extremely high price (and the vet gets a cut).

You can feed wet foods to help prevent crystals, you can also feed better quality dry foods. Stuff like not having byproducts, having more vitamins, etc. There's a lot to research you can do there, but it's important to know there's a huge difference between grocery store mass market cat food and top shelf pet store stuff.
