Hello yospos and catte thread. It has been a while since I posted. Last October, the cat distribution system visited me. When I was walking to my local corner store I saw this pristine white cat sitting next to a bar. I bent over to see if he was friendly and he walked right up to me and let me pet him. As I walked away, he was staring at me, wondering where I was going. On my way back, he was still there, waiting for me. The bar workers said he'd been there for about 10 hours, which seemed very odd to me. This, to me, sounded either like someone's escaped catte, or they were abandoned. It was going to get cold that night so I did the one thing I could think of: I brought him home. Went back to the corner store to get him some wet food, and he waffed that food down super quickly. The next day I put up some found flyers in case it was an escaped catte. In the meantime, I took him to the vet to see if he was tagged and to see how healthy he was. No tag, good health (minus a little gingivitis). 3 weeks later I get a call from someone who knows the owner of the cat. I told him of what I have done with the cat (vet and all) and he said to me "Sounds like you've taken greater care of the cat than the owner. She usually just lets him in and out each day. Tell you what, I'll talk to her, see if she wants the cat back, or if she's willing to relinquish the cat over to you". 10 minutes later: "The cat's all yours". So, today, almost 3 months since I received him into my life, I present to you - Minou:  He was very scraggly when I found him, which meant that he wasn't very well loved. A bit dirty from being outside, but otherwise very friendly and clean. He also found his new favourite sleeping spot: Between my keyboard and monitor:   I tried lining a box with a blanket, but he didn't like it too much:  So I cleaned out the space a bit for him to stretch out more:  He's just baby:      He maintains his distance. He's not a lap cat, and doesn't like being too close to people (hugging and stuff). When he's on the computer table, he absolutely LOVES his belly rubs. It is never a trap. When he wants to be alone, there's an ottoman he likes to sleep on in my media room. Loves the nip, doesn't understand scratch boxes, and loves to interrupt me during game time to get into his sleeping spot. He's change my life and I'm glad to have him. I will try to remember to post more. Note: Yes, I understand Minou is french for "kitty", I couldn't think of a decent name and it just stuck.
