I live in California and was born in the late 80's and I still have to check Wikipedia every time there's a new strip.

My favorite thing about the GOF hardcover edition is the added coda of them at Roast Beef's uncle's Greek restaurant. I know it's a only a couple of addition panels (and they're mostly mirrored copies) but the dancing and the uncle's gleeful astonishment makes the moment.

That's a lot of steps to take to reconcile one dude's bad reading of a strip that made sense to everyone else.

It's just one so far but it had that old Achewood charm. I'm only at the 5 bux tier but considering upping my tier to get some of the extras now..

I upgraded to the 9 bux tier since I remembered the blog posts and other supplementary writing being some of his funniest stuff. Not sure the extra content in the $14 tier is for me though.

The one strip and the podcast transcript already fill me with hope, feels like we're back.

I have tried Showbiz's microwaved Slim Jim and Roast Beef's Certs in a Budweiser and I'm afraid I'm 0/2 with the nouvelle cuisine of the Kazenzakis Brothers.

I think I remember seeing some of the pilot or some portion of the Achewood show floating around. The voices didn't match what I imagined the characters should sound like in my head was my takeaway.

Oh gently caress I didn't know it was Toby Huss! I guess credit to him as a voice actor because I didn't pick up any hints of him in it. Still doesn't sound like Ray to me.

Maybe Ray's voice is just a platonic ideal that exists in my head and neither AI or voice acting will ever replicate it.

Self-Bernards is such a hilarious business idea to come up with mid-piss. Ray should go on Shark Tank and pitch it, all trying to strap a Saint Bernard cask around a struggling Kevin O'Leary's neck.

A well-prepared man, "Self-Bernards"

The new strip and the Roast Beef weed selling story were really good. Honestly, I was half expecting the voices to sound stilted after such a long break or even worse a weirdo, hosed up storyline like the High School arc, but everything has been hitting for me with this return.

Glad the Patreon is working out for Onstad. Seems like a good model for him to finally make a living off the work and keep motivated. I'm happy to subscribe since the return's quality has been high and I've been missing reading Achewood ever week, but I'll probably skip any other merch or books not done with a publisher given his track record.
