Grey panels are Teodor's imagination. He's now terrified of a different thing than "showing filth room to woman" - he is now terrified of "showing Cornelius-style old-man room to woman". This is because Teodor constantly undermines himself through crippling self-doubt, and is constantly terrified. Also,

I'm actually kinda sad that Achewood had this little foot-kicking-in-its-coma spurt even if we got some OK comics out of it. I was resigned to it never updating again and now I've got to go through that all over again

Pat's probably the character that changed the most from conception to today. He seems kinda like a beatnik in his earliest appearances. Whoa, Roast Beef is smoking. This feels... wrong.
