LUBE UP YOUR BUTT posted:Anyone know what the default thread highlight colours are for the Firefox version of SALR? For some reason Firefox and Chrome SALR have different highlight colour values and I've always preferred FF's more matte look to Chrome's neon When I first built the extension I tried replicating the same colors and for whatever reason Chrome refused to display them. If you find them I'd be interested to know if they work for you. Try using Firebug to inspect the DOM with the Firefox extension running, that should show you the color hex.

It may have been Chrome way back when that was the problem. I originally wrote the extension before extensions were available even in the beta channel, so poo poo was breaking left and right. Either way, thanks for posting the values! I'm going to use them too.

LUBE UP YOUR BUTT posted:Ferg, is it possible to integrate an option to disable SALR in certain forums? Thread highlighting makes the YOSPOS completely unreadable, so I'm forced to either disable SALR or adblock 219.css. Martytoof posted:While we're at it, is there any way that you can find a way to make 219.css a user selectable option in the SALR preferences? I don't mind loading it, but being able to disable it after the page loads would be fine. Seems like a pretty simple solution. I'll take a crack at it.

I'm looking through the embedded API docs but all I can find is that adding ?hd=1 to the end of the embed URL is all you need. It's definitely not working though. Does anybody know how to get it to force HD res? I'll roll out Zeph's changes with this if I can find a solution.

I read the OP, but what setting am I supposed to change in my CP? It's been semi broken for a while. It worked great while I was testing it and then when I pushed it live I noticed it was terribly unreliable. Turns out that the API I was using was nixed from the HTML5 spec so I'm assuming that's the culprit. I'll need to rewrite it to fix it at some point.

LastInLine posted:Is there a way to backup one's settings except for just screenshotting the settings screen? I just checked the Options page documentation for the first time in a year or so and they still haven't evolved that at all. A backup feature is technically feasible, and I will be doing a sync service for Awful for Android in the near future, so maybe I can integrate this feature request with that service. LastInLine posted:On the settings screen, Automatically collapse large quotes is on there twice, under Thread Options and at the bottom in Other Options. Thanks for spotting this! LastInLine posted:Is there a way this extension could be used to fix 219.css in YOSPOS so the Post, Reply, Quote, and Ratings buttons are fixed? I only asked about the backup because I thought I read in one of the Android threads that the settings automatically restored but I have to reinstall Chrome Portable on my USB drive every time a new version comes out and it'd never done it for me. Good to know I'm not crazy. Settings auto backup on the Android app which might be what you read. Right now for SALR settings are purely client side. Definitely will be something I look into for the sync feature I'm adding to the Android app though.

calandryll posted:I think this was talked about before, for me, the colors on several different computers and screens are way too light. It makes it difficult to tell between read and unread, I put in the colors the Firefox version uses but still the same problem. Is this a Chrome problem with color rendering? About the only thing that stops me from using the Chrome full time. When I originally wrote the extension that was the only feature and I tried to use the exact colors from the Firefox extension but they straight up didn't render at all, so I picked the current defaults and left it at that. Recently somebody posted the hex values for the Firefox extension and I tried them again and while they're rendering now I still couldn't read them that well. I guess its a Chrome thing? On the rare occasion that I use Firefox the defaults still look great there.

brc64 posted:Well, at first I was missing the little Grenade jump list thing, but then I finally found the setting for it. And then Quick Reply wasn't working, but I'm typing in that box right now. The only other issue I've noticed is that when I enable moderator/admin highlighting, it highlights their username in the thread list, even if I have name highlighting turned off. First time you reply to a thread the quick reply won't work, its a prep thing while it gathers necessary bits required to work. I'll look into the highlighting. Its been a long time since I looked at the jump list...I think I remember there being a pinning feature, or it was at least discussed. I don't use the feature personally so its tough to say.

brc64 posted:The list pinning is a pretty major thing for me. There's only about 5 forums I regularly look at, and having quick access to each is pretty handy. Of course, since the grenade icon only shows up when I'm already on the forums, I'm still out of luck if I'm on some other site. Maybe I should just bookmark each forum and get at them through that instead... I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't grab a link but head back to the Chrome Web Store and search for Something Awful. I have a separate browser bar extension that makes the jump list global. It works with your SALR settings so just keep both installed. As for the pinning, I'll take a look in a bit. I know it cropped up at some point.
