Honestly, the ending to Negan's arc where he realizes that he has been a crazy rear end in a top hat holding back civilization was great. It is just unfortunate that after that revelation Kirkman couldn't think of anything to do with him better than 'become a lame Hannibal Lecter knock-off'.
