That's so the end user doesn't have to sully their eyes with what actually makes their car go. Just put gas in it and take it to the dealership every few months for oil changes and whatever they say needs fixin'.

Facetious-ness aside, it's probably to contain the noise from the engine.

Finally read this whole thread.

Someone who I've raced with had something similar happen with a SR20DE and it's attendant gearbox in longitudinal configuration, welds on the flywheel's teeth let go and the assembly turned into a giant rotating cheese wire, sliced his foot off. Atfer that basically everybody I know welded a two inch steel plate on the driver's side footwell where the bellhousing is.

Hmm, I think it's time for me to go look at the MR2 and see where the flywheel sits in relation to my rear end.

Yeah I thought they just removed the wheels to do a visual inspection, I don't think they actually remove the calipers.

I just don't understand why anyone needs their car to be *that* clean, unless it's to be stored in a museum or similar.

All the work is undone as soon as you get on the road and start hitting bugs/rain/dirt of any kind.

All that work is undone as soon as you drive outside and some dust lands on it. Kinda feel sorry for him, but at least he was able to turn it into a successful business.

Just so everyone knows, they charge the driver 1000 euro per foot of guardrail damage and 10k euro per hour that they have to close the track. Whoops!

So how much do they charge for the fuckin' helicopter

Arresting cable snaps on a carrier during an F/A-18 landing. It's worth watching just to see the one member of the flight deck manage to jump over the cable and not get injured. Several people got injured by this one.

Are they trained to just start jumping like that??

This is more of a human failing than a mechanical one but I think it still belongs here.

According to the same video posted by someone else, there were people in that boat and there were fatalities. :(

Thanks for that. I had this version, and it's quite funny but it's always good to see the original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lIR2NKY98c
