Though I can barely remember my own phone number! Anyways, I got a touch now, so I'm going to need to fill 32gigs. Every New Order, Depeche Mode, Ladytron and Smith's album barely scratches the surface.

Let's bring is back a bit in the house scene with some classics by my absolutely favourite french house artist Alan Braxe. Alan Braxe - Vertigo Alan Braxe - Vertigo (Thomas Bangalter's Virgo Edit) These are available off of Roulé in Paris, stop in sometime if you're in the neighbourhood! Braxe & Falke have been my mainstay standard for what is french house music. Expect a hell of a lot more of them to show up in this thread.

I am a sucker for funk/disco/house -- here are a couple of my favorite tracks at the moment: DJ Kittles - Disco Bones (Original Mix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDFdS_kyO9M TiTAN - Bruxism Groove http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg1p0hwXow4 I think I came across that second one in a Duck Sauce minimix -- I'm sure a lot of you browsing this thread are already on Duck Sauce, so I didn't post any, but I'm really diggin' the collaboration there. EDIT: foold ya heres duck soss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92TqR6HWcVo Fred Falke is suhweet, too. He remixed that Miike Snow song better than I think anyone else. i always prefer the Fred Falke remixes, he does the same thing every time, but he has it down so well. Alan Braxe is another one to check out in the same vein, collabed with Falke a lot.

I have been addicted to this track recently. My friends description describes it perfectly: "This is my addiction and the cure." Digitalism - Pogo (shinichi osawa remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UQhGM2pc88 Also, from Russia with love comes Teslaboy! He released an EP recently which is stellar. Here is the first song (I believe). Its the spirit of the night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b7cj4zWiyo Listen to them shits. OO, even though this is not really electro pop, it is one of my more favorite songs of all time. mugsyRocko posted:digitalism, or shinichi osawa? I hope he means Digitalism because there is no way that could apply to Shinichi! Shinichi Osawa is one of my favourite producers. He is huge in japan and asia along with a lot of other asian electro acts (80kidz, Q;indivi, etc) and has such a great style. Everything he's done lately has been great. I took this La Roux remix from his Sounds of Summer 09 mix because it isn't available anywhere else to listen to, it's an easy going guitar mix that is nothing like his other work. However, some of the more recent stuff he's been doing includes being on the HOUSE*DISNEY (amazing compilation by the way) and collaborating with his good friends The Young Punx, which can be seen here The Young Punx - "Rock Star (Understand)" [Shinichi Osawa Remix] (Asian Kung-Fu Generation) . Other than that, his LP from lastyear, The One and it's sequential remix album The One+ is absolutely loving stellar and textbook electro for those looking to get their moves on. His Star Guitar remix is probably the his most well known work here stateside. Edit: Every 4-7 days I cull all the tracks that were posted during the week on blogs and aggregate them to my youtube account and blog, so if you're looking for a direct supply of bangers' then head on over to https://www.curbcheckyouhavethecon.blogspot.com to get your listening on. Tech House!! Latin Fever - Wolfgang Gartner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcgN5MZGwJQ#t=2m10s Wolfgang is a god drat genius. This track is out of this world. Un-loving-believable. Backroom Honey - Saeed Younan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o3TYWHMf5Y#t=2m10s The first time I heard this in a club I'm pretty sure I died and went to heaven. This is probably my favorite track of the year. Also, As much as I love blog house, I hope you all have been exposed to more 'club' style electro. I used to think Justice was the best act out there, but then I saw Wolfgang Gartner live. What I've come to realize is that while Justice may be able to put together a fantastic album, all the bits and pieces on Cross that are great have been done better elsewhere. 3 (Wolfgang Gartner Remix) - Britney Spears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kfPVSFmb6E Tetris - Electrixxx - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwPqdnHUFos&feature=related This song has possibly one of my favorite drops @ 3:22. It's not a great example of technical skill, but hearing that poo poo in the club makes people freak out. My GOD (Guns on Demo) - Laidback Luke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZavtoyRx1d0 Rough and bossy. Man vs Child posted:I hope he means Digitalism because there is no way that could apply to Shinichi! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyHFcYLNbSE I do know though that there was a collaboration under the name of RAVEX that he's part of, it's not entirely him (Fantastic Plastic Machine and m-Flo are the 2 other DJs, it's one project not each one contributing their own songs) it's quite poppy though, Worth a look if you're a diehard fan regardless. That House Disney has some The Lowbrows and Fantastic Plastic Machine on it too actually, completely unexpected compilation I have to check it out. Edit: Ended up not liking those tracks :I FPM has a really distinctive upbeat retro sound and it's just too much over a Disney song which is going for that anyway, and The Lowbrows' one sounds like they had an unused track, layered some vocals on top and called it a remix. It gets really good at parts but for me the vocals are just killing it THE AWESOME GHOST fucked around with this message at 22:52 on Dec 14, 2009 |

Can anyone recommend me some more Electro-pop I might like? I started out with Ladyhawke and after seeing her live in a really great, very personal concert (Here in NZ) I fell in love with the genre. I've been listening to some Little Boots and some La Roux, but I'm really not sure where to start otherwise. Any ideas would be totally welcome. Instrument question; what is the box that often electronic bands have. It's about the size of a drum pad, but it has about 12 buttons on it. I've seen these being used by a lot of bands, but it seems little more than an odd shaped keyboard.

Does it have any other characteristics that stand out?

I haven't seen them in the thread yet, and they aren't really that great, but I was shamelessly addicted to some of that Passion Pit album over the summer. Standout track: "Little Secrets" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBt9sxTailQ I hope there are other people that can get behind some fluffy electropop with me. Fancy Ultra Fresh by Freezepop was a wonderful album. And as someone else already mentioned, Chromeo is unparalleled in injecting the funk.
