Tech House!! Latin Fever - Wolfgang Gartner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcgN5MZGwJQ#t=2m10s Wolfgang is a god drat genius. This track is out of this world. Un-loving-believable. Backroom Honey - Saeed Younan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o3TYWHMf5Y#t=2m10s The first time I heard this in a club I'm pretty sure I died and went to heaven. This is probably my favorite track of the year. Also, As much as I love blog house, I hope you all have been exposed to more 'club' style electro. I used to think Justice was the best act out there, but then I saw Wolfgang Gartner live. What I've come to realize is that while Justice may be able to put together a fantastic album, all the bits and pieces on Cross that are great have been done better elsewhere. 3 (Wolfgang Gartner Remix) - Britney Spears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kfPVSFmb6E Tetris - Electrixxx - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwPqdnHUFos&feature=related This song has possibly one of my favorite drops @ 3:22. It's not a great example of technical skill, but hearing that poo poo in the club makes people freak out. My GOD (Guns on Demo) - Laidback Luke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZavtoyRx1d0 Rough and bossy. Pretty Green Eyes '10 - D'azoo at Night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNZ_fqyehlA 9b817f5 fucked around with this message at 19:21 on Dec 14, 2009 |

Firaga posted:Yeah so Pryda's new EP is stunning. Not that I really expected anything else. Illusions is one HELL of a track. Now if only we got some more Cirez D. You know, I totally understand why people are in love with Pryda productions, but I'm not impressed with this one. He bridges the gap between progressive and techno really well, but this, like most of his other tracks, just ends up sounding so dull to me. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm turned off by repetition, it's just that after hearing his work on tracks like Melo and Niton, it's hard for me to be more than "meh" about this track.

re: netsky Dnb is really hard for people to get into because it's so fast. I definitely have seen some great dnb shows before, but for the average person who wants to dance it's just too much. Dnb to me -- especially in the US -- just isn't approachable the same way that even 140bpm trance is. That being said, I adore netsky. I think he has a sound that can really stand on its own more than most dnb. He may not be the best liquid artist out there, but I don't really give a poo poo because I don't listen to that much dnb.

This is dubstep. There is a thread dedicated to that type of EDM already in NMD -- you can probably find it on the front page. Dubstep, drum and bass, and other related forms of EDM have an entirely different genealogy than house/trance and so this is not the sort of music you are likely to find in this thread. However, if you are interested in electro/dubstep cross-over I would recommend things like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQcveez-dn4
