Hitlazers posted:Not a drummer, I do this, enjoy it immensely, that guy can eat a dick. Also, Toe are amazing, even though the concept is essentially "we'll play this nice little song while the drummer shows off". They're probably leaning a bit more to post-rock though. Basically if you like 65daysofstatic you'll probably like Toe. Are there any other bands that focus on the drums as the main instrument? Most music is all about the guitar or vocals, and drums are around to keep the beat. I love drums though, and would like to find more music with them brought to the front of the band. Toe is awesome though, everyone should check them out.

I know it isn't math rock at all but I found a very good video of Wavves with Zach Hill on drums. (hella drummer for those who don't know) and I figured a lot of you would enjoy it a lot. http://www.baeblemusic.com/concertvideo/The-Market-Hotel/Wavves.html Enjoy it. He goes crazy on this simple music. That site also has a very good full concert video of Dosh. After watching it, I was sad that I didn't go see him perform a few months ago but I figured a one man band can't really be all that great to watch. Boy was I wrong.

Looks like Zach Hill just released his new solo cd FACE TAT It is available here http://zachhill.bandcamp.com/ I'm listening to it now and it is great. A lot more enjoyable to listen to then his last solo album or his solo hella split cd. Marnie Sterns self titled which he drums on also just came out. Enjoy some great drums, and some great shredding.

New track is out from Hella's new album. The boy's are back as a duo, which is awesome because I hate lyrics in my Math Rock. http://stereogum.com/699351/hella-untitled-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/ In other good news, Giraffes? Giraffes! are working on a new album. They did the Kickstarter thing and hit their goal in just three days. Really is amazing as I didn't think they were that known at all. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/745015920/the-new-giraffes-giraffes-album?ref=live Can't wait.

New hella track. http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/16177-yubacore/ Got to say, they are one band who hates sounding the same cd after cd. I really like the direction of this new one though, the two released tracks so far have blown me away. 20 more days! New Giraffes? Giraffes! and Hella cd in the same month. What more could you ask for? Harminoff fucked around with this message at 06:11 on Aug 10, 2011 |

So it's been on a year and this cd is still in constant rotation in my car. Are there any other bands that make music like (ignore the dumb name) you slut! The only way I can describe it is a battle of different songs that someone mesh together perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4kHKXXGCzw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeHuF-u51Oo So many great riffs in their songs. Am I a terrible person if I really really hate vocals in my math rock? I always feel that it takes to much away from the instruments.

Except maybe Goodbye by Toe as that girl's voice sounds really good with the music somehow. (Though I don't know if you would consider Toe math rock, but they are really awesome nonetheless and I wish they would come out with some new music already) And I guess the vocals in this new And So Watch You From Afar isn't terrible https://soundcloud.com/sargent-house/asiwyfa-run-home/s-C1fi2 Harminoff fucked around with this message at 04:28 on Feb 18, 2015 |
