Selling my 1995 Honda CBR600 F3 with under 17,000 miles on it. Bike looks & runs good.
It's been lowered 1" with the option to lower it an additional 2" if desired (the sidestand has already been shortened).
I am including an "extra" factory sidestand + the original suspension link if you'd like to change it back.
These are considered great beginner bikes!
Included in the sale is: factory tool kit, Owners Manual, Repair/Shop Manual (on CD/ROM) + "brand new" front & rear paddock stands.
I cannot ride anymore due to a work injury.
Bike has clean title & I have the pink slip in hand + registration is paid until Aug 2010.
Asking $1700/OBO
Located in Santa Cruz.

god drat looks incredibly clean and low mileage, pick it up Z3n! Santa Cruz is a bit too far for me to want to travel. Also comes with the 2 stands.

I think that's because the kawasakis will run forever and you can replace the clutch for like 80 bucks, but the BMW's clutch is 700 or something not counting labor?

this is just want the cop who gave me lessons on KZ1000s was telling me. The new bmws are expensive as poo poo, and need maintenance more often because they have a car-style clutch that wears out from slipping, and the KZs have something like 7 plates swimming in oil.

he seemed pretty unimpressed.

and he was hungarian, so I don't think he had inborn distrust of furners.

BMW clutch job means essentially splitting the bike in half, and they do use a single plate dry clutch rather than your more typical wet, multiplate clutch. Dry clutches will wear faster and do have less resistance to glazing than wet clutches, but it's not like it's going to instantly explode if you slip it too much.

and second off, I think the idea is, it's had alot of use, so, if the clutch hasn't been replaced lately, it might need to sooner than later, and that's an expense to think about.

I don't know about maintaining the rest of the bike, but I think the guy's emphasis on it was because he spent alot of his time replacing clutches on the KZs he was using as learner bikes, which makes sense.

It's just my thought, because I was thinking about getting a KZ1000 at first (hunting them down became a pain, so I stopped bothering), and I was assured that, well used or not, they're easy to maintain and last forever, and in contrast the BMWs were expensive and difficult.

Well, the other thing about police bikes is that they spend an absurd amount of time burning the clutch at low speed in their practice maneuver stuff. So I can understand why a cop would say that the clutches are weak as they spend a lot of time abusing them, without much chance to let them cool off.

But he's sort of right and wrong at the same time about the BMW...some things are really difficult to do (clutch) and some things are really easy to do (valves).

Actually, I was calling bullshit on the fact that he claimed that it was a "car clutch" and wasn't intended to be slipped.

The clutch design and maintenance might be problematic, but there's no way BMW put "a car clutch" in a motorcycle.

Cut me some slack. It's more car-style than not. What's the functional difference, other than the fact that it's not as heavily built?

Considering that controlling your bike's speed without killing yourself is largely dependent upon slipping the clutch whereas in a car that's a sure way to burn it out, I'd say that's the biggest thing that made me go . I'm not saying that the design is good or not, or reminiscent of a car or whatever. Just that saying that a bike has a clutch that isn't meant to be slipped doesn't make any sense.

I could be wrong, I suppose and someone will post a bike that uses a car clutch. v:shobon:v Don't get all defensive - I wasn't being critical of you, but the cop that told you that sounds like a less than reliable source.

I am looking to SELL or TRADE my very rare 2002 Aprilia RS250 2-Stroke that has the extremely rare and elusive California Title. The bike is in great shape and only shows 6,000 miles on it.

This bike has the following upgrades that have been added:

- New Top End at 3K miles with Pro-X Pistons
- Arrow Aprilia Racing Exhaust
- Ohlins Rear Shock
- Race-Tech Fork Springs with Showa Forks
- Woodcraft Rearsets
- Michelin Power Race Tires with 200 miles on them
- New Plugs
- New Front Ferodo Pads
- DID Chain
- Brand New Factory Fork Seals installed 500 miles ago

This bike has been in California its entire life and was first registered in 2003. I am the 2nd owner and have owned it for about 2 years. The original owner did use it for some track days at Laguna Seca and it does show a few knicks on the rear swing arm.

The Plastics and Tank show no wear at all and are in great shape. All of the electronics work perfectly and the bike NEEDS NOTHING. The bike has always been garaged and has been started at least once a month. Nothing but Motul 2T oil has been in this bike.

I am looking to sell or will trade for the following bikes. Will consider Trade plus Cash, however the bike must be California Street Legal and have a California Title:

- Cagiva Mito 125
- Aprilia RS125
- NSR 250 MC 21 or MC 28
- Ducati 888 or 851
- Ducati 748R
- Ducati 916
- MV F4
- Any Bimota
- Honda VFR 400 NC30
- Kawasaki ZX 7R/RR
- Suzuki RG500 Gamma
- Anything that is rare or unique

Yeah, you can expect a title to add at least 25% to the value of a bike. If it's exotic, make that double, if it's a 2 stroke, triple. Which makes the price of around 3000$ (adjusted) pretty reasonable. :v:

This is a 250cc chassis with a 49.6cc screamer of an engine with a 6-speed tranny, hydraulic clutch, suicide stand, inverted forks, digital instrumentation, liquid cooling, oil injection and much more. Spanish built and built better than most of the bikes I've owned. Really an impressive unit. Bought it to use at the horse shows, but the horses are afraid of it, too loud.

Less than 300 miles!

Only issue is the seal around the oil level sending unit at the bottom of the down tube on the frame is weeping from sitting dry for 5 years before purchase.

Believed to be 1 of less than 10 in the states although a rep at GasGas USA in KC said they never brought ANY in! Could be the only one here. Very popular, coveted and modified in Europe.

2006 Scorpa SY250 Trials, uses a Yamaha 2 stroke 250 engine - $3,800

Click here for the full 640x480 image.

Runs, rides and handles like a dream. Plenty of scratches like any trials bike. Decent tires, can be plated, that's right it has a tail/brake light and if you so desire Scorpa sells a long ride kit. Headlight included in sale as well as an extra air filter (new). Only defect is the throttle body has a crack and missing bit about 3/4 of an inch in the cover where the 2 cables articulate. It has been this way for more than a year and I have been riding it as such (taped up to keep the dirt/dust out) and competed and medalled with it this way. It doesn't affect the performance at all. Also comes with a spare tank that I stupidly cracked (and have since "repaired") on a -5 degree January day!

Has won gold and silver medals in the RMTA with me on it. ready for you to do the same.

I love this one and will miss it most. Wish I could take it on the road with me.
