The 500t isn’t a bad bike, and I’d definitely buy that pile of junk for $200.

Depends on where you are I think. Uncle Henry’s (weekly printed classified ads) and craigslist are still going pretty strong here in Maine especially among the older crowd, which is basically the entire state.

I don’t need or want a Ducati Scrambler but that’s almost 50% off the new price for a bike with 1500 miles https://maine.craigslist.org/mcy/d/old-orchard-beach-2016-ducati-scrambler/7007654179.html

Yesterday I tried to buy a not running ‘72 Norton Interstate for $1500 so I could trade it for a friend’s beautifully maintained CB500T. The guy who replied to the ad just before I did bought the Norton That’s my sad story for the day.

Not great ads, but who are these people? 2014 TW200 with 46 miles on it: https://maine.craigslist.org/mcy/d/hampden-yamaha-tw200/7118890403.html 2013 Vespa with 1 mile on it: https://maine.craigslist.org/mcy/d/south-freeport-2013-vespa-150-lxie/7118772346.html I can’t imagine owning something for seven years and never using it.

Can’t think of a reason why an otherwise stock FZ6 would be missing a front fender other than “it was crashed”.

While they aren’t cool, seeing an ad for the new Rebel was what prompted me to sign up for my MSF. It wasn’t that the bike was interesting, it was just the first time it registered in my brain that motorcycles aren’t all Harleys, or supersports, or dentist bikes, and by extension there are motorcyclists who aren’t biker gang cosplayers, or helmet-and-tanktop squids, or adv dentists. The rider in the ad was wearing a Bell Bullitt helmet and a normal looking jacket, which all looked friendly and relatable and made me think “Hey that looks like a fun thing I could do too”. A modern “you meet the nicest people” approach I suppose. So while I’ll never own one, thanks for that Honda Rebel.

RightClickSaveAs posted:How can we make Craigslist the go to for buying/selling motorcycles again? That war was lost years ago and there’s no going back to Craigslist. Unless Facebook magically goes away (unlikely) or some new even worse social media app becomes the norm for personal ads (more likely), we’re all stuck with marketplace.
