Stew Patterson to me
show details 12:47 PM (2 hours ago)
Hi there,
I wanted to let you know that my bike is still available and it is located in London,KY. I had a buyer offering $2,800 but his loan didn't get approved. I am selling it because soon I will have my first babies(twins). I am very excited about this. My main priority from now on will be family so I'm selling the bike to get a family car. I work in the US Air Force and I`m currently deployed in Del Rio,TX for 2 months on the basis of Laughlin. So I'm willing to let it go for ($2.200 + $300 shipping cost already paid) $2,500 and since I only have one, First come, First served.
My Yamaha V-Star Custom is 2006 and looks like new, with only 5,700 miles and 1100cc. The bike is in perfect shape, never dropped and very good running condition. It will come with a clear title, bill of sale signed by me as well and all the papers (including the original manuals and keys) that you will need to register it under your name. More pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/stevenpattt/UntitledAlbum#slideshow
Shipping is included in the final price ($300), as I explained, my buyer changed his mind after I have made the arrangements to ship the bike. The trucking company would not refund me but can ship my bike to anywhere within continental US (NOT Canada), so I've left it at their warehouse and it's ready to ship at anytime.
Regards,
Steven Patterson, TSgt, USAF

Christ don't people think about this stuff before making a big purchase? I mean don't they do their own math in their heads? If he was using that R6 as a primary means of transport/commute i'd understand but people financing bikes and then hardly riding them then trying to recoup the money they still owe makes me a little sad. Especially since they're reselling the bike for more than it's worth in this current market heh.

Yep, I went to a Kawi dealer just to check things out, see what I was missing by getting an older bike vs. a new one.

The salesman didn't care that I wanted to look at the EX250, EX500, and some naked standard V-twins and rather told me about how I could get on a literbike for $50/mo.

See that 2 year of 0% interest or whatever isn't such a bad idea, say you put down about 4000$ down and just pay the 6k or whatever off in 2 years time, thats what i'd do if I wanted a brand new one. But it seems better to just get a model thats a year or 2 behind the current one for about 60% of the price, the supersport bikes usually get changed every 2-3 years anyways.

I once sold a bike that was literally only damaged by dropping it in my drive way once, and once in a parking lot. Both times I wasn't actually moving when it fell. So there.

I did this once :( trying to tiptoe it backwards down tapered driveway and living on a pretty steep hill.... from now on I just turn it around just outside the garage and actually drive it forwards out of the driveway.

2005 Kawasaki ZX6R 636. This is a great bike. I really am going to miss it. 14.5 K miles, mostly from commuting. I never laid this bike down and the paint is beatifull. Its pretty much stock except that I lowered the gearing the last time I changed the chain and sprockets. Also I took off the rear fender and replaced it with cleaner looking license plate holder. Also has under body glow lights. I know, a little cheesy but they were 50 bucks and I was bored. I am very motivated to sell!! reply to email or call or text at 337-353-7626.

I almost bought this bike, but instead grabbed an 02 SV650. I think you should buy it because 636s are pimp as hell, and you *know* you wanna rock that underlighting...

Well i'm sure it's easy as hell to remove, I've been eyeing one for a while, I think some kind of ticket or something cleared up on my record (over 3 years ago) so I can probably swing the 200ish a year for liability....

pros: Awesome bike, i've always wanted one, friend has one and loves it, my #1 color choice, #2 would be green of course, looks to be in nice condition. it'd be my first fuel injected bike, (is this a lot nicer to have? My carbed bikes have no problems starting) Quoted 194$/year for liability pretty easy to afford. My birthday is next month too....

Cons: I'd have 3 drat bikes, and I don't want to sell any current ones because i'm a sentimental idiot, I ride both my bikes pretty often and having a 3rd would mess up my usual pattern. My folks would think i'm an idiot for buying 3 bikes in less than a year, wouldn't be enough space in the garage either.

Would it be too early for a late model supersport for me? I've done roughly 7500 miles since I started riding, although it's mostly freeway with a little bit of riding around the city of San Francisco. The CBR F2 is pretty fast as it is although I understand these are a bit more top end power oriented and even lighter.

"Converted into Streetfighter/supermoto"

Just another way of saying i've crashed my bike and am trying to get back way too much money for it.

If I didn't already have a K1200 i'd probably pick this up:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcy/2938446368.html

Low 48k miles, bike is mainly garaged or covered
New metzler marathon 880s with about 1500 miles on them
Tuneup with timing belt change done around October
Also did front fork seals about that time
Runs very well, maintained at Werkstatt
Looks very good for 21 years
Comes with hardbags and tankbag

Here's what is not perfect about it:
heated handgrips need to be repaired - around 300 bucks
It has 3 cosmetic flaws. One touch up on the tank, a touch up on the back and on the front fairing.
It's priced to move today. Check out the pictures; it looks great.

I'm thinking offer him a grand, get it running, and then sell it for ....? I'm not quite sure what these things are worth, not to mention the fact that it only has 5500 miles.
edit: Checking SearchTempest, I'm seeing prices from $2300-$3500 :psyduck:

I've seen a 96 model year for 2000$ in clean running shape, I also considered picking it up but I read about the 16inch front wheel and it does make tire options kind of slim, only decent tire I found that come in 16inch are BT-016s.

Here it is.

That VFR might be worth fixing if you can get a new dash for a good price if thats what it needs, not sure how much, looking at ebay, theres a dash for like 200$ and a pgm-fi unit should be 100-200$, stators are in the 100$ range, dash might be kind of a pain in the butt to replace but stators and the PGM fi unit should be fairly easy, depends if you plan on keeping the bike a while, it does have some really nice aftermarket parts on it.

My 99 VFR has almost 59k miles hasn't had a problem in the last 22k miles or so that i've owned it... they're great bikes.

Maybe i'm a bit wary, but kits/mods that increase bore kind of scare me from a reliability standpoint, as stout as the VFR engine is, i've never seen or even heard of an HRC bore kit for the vfr, are my assumptions misguided?
