Phat_Albert posted:I think they use some loophole in some state that allows you to register "abandoned" bikes. It depends on the age of your vehicle. For my 1972 RV90, they registered it in their name in Alabama, then "sold" it to me. I showed up at the DMV with a legit Alabama title, and all the relevant paperwork that made it look like I bought a bike from down there, and they registered it, no questions asked, since it was legally registered with the AL DMV. It figures it would be here in Alabama that they do that. All you need is a bill of sale/proof of ownership and $10 to get a new title. You don't even need a title to register something 10 years old or older. Once you have your registration, that counts as proof of ownership so you can get your $10 title.

Are rednecks not common in your neck of the woods or something? I guess living in Alabama makes that ad nothing special to me as it describes basically everyone in this state.

On the bright side, you could probably go pretty far between fill ups with that 40 gallon tank he has.

I need a lot of people to tell me what I already know so I don't do something dumb. 2003 Honda RC51 -6,073 miles -Power Commander III -Runs and rides great, everything seems straight as an arrow -Yoshimura dual exhaust -520 Chain kit -Brand new frame sliders -CRG levers -Old sprockets -Passenger pegs $2,999 Yeah, it's a salvage title because of this: The other side looks perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD5twHHmKqc Help me, Cycle Asylum! Z3n posted:Not a bad deal. I'd probably try and shoot for around 3k with the seat, considering the cost of replacing the bent seat, and if the valves haven't been adjusted. Would you consider trading for a bike of equal value that you could flip just as easily, if not easier (my 2009 Ninja 250)? I haven't really tried that tactic yet, but I think I might ask.

All I can figure is that the guy won it in a contest or something, there isn't even enough miles on it to scare yourself, probably just from rolling around the dealer. That, and him being very willing to take a huge cash hit on it, it seems a contest prize or something. I would imagine his Harley dealer offers what all of them offer here; delivery to your house. I can't figure out the mindset of people who want to spend Harley money on something and then not even have the fun of driving it off the dealer's lot. I mean, you just spent a few grand for the privilege.
