MrKatharsis posted:No fairings but ungggggghhh I am tempted to just go make him an offer. That's an R6 rear fairing he has on there, iirc that usually requires some subframe fuckery. Make sure to check the welds and everything around there if you go for it. Also check the voltage regulator, I forget when Yamaha switched from the lovely non-heatsinked ones on FZRs that like to eat themselves to the better ones that do have heatsinks.

hayden. posted:Gotta be careful with that two year deadline, though. I know some credit cards throw on all the back interest if it isn't paid off in 2 years. Most of these low-to-no payment 0% APR financing setups work like that. Its actually not a bad deal if you have the cash in hand anyway and have it sitting somewhere where it makes money (like Ford stock, for example) and can pull it out a couple months before the deadline and pay it off in full on time. Of course, that would require being fiscally responsible and these schemes aren't set up for people like that. And that guy with the Bandit obviously needs a custom child-seat tail rack, not a new vehicle.

Kin Corn Karn posted:another is a 90' yamaha fzr600 for $1200, supposedly only needing a choke cable and a battery charge. seems like a safer bet, but maybe a bit small and underpowered for me. As the owner of an FZR600 a) Its not underpowered. In fact, its probably too powerful for you unless you have a really steady throttle hand. b) how tall are you? it is a fairly small bike if you're over 6' tall but not terribly so. I'm 6'4" and can fit fairly comfortably on mine.

Got him to drop to $2900, which still seems like a good deal. Going to look at it (and probably buy it) tonight. Anyone want my KLR?
