Wiki is telling me the Buff has 1200km more ferry range, and can carry 3x as much weight in munitions. Hard to believe that the B-52 is actually older and has been in service longer than the bear. While they have similar shapes, the turboprops, nose and cluttered look of the Bear makes it look like it belongs in WWII rather than the cold war. It's also possibly the second loudest aircraft ever made (after the thunderscreetch). Holy mother of quote:Coupled with the already considerable noise from the subsonic aspect of the propeller and the dual turbines, the aircraft was notorious for inducing severe nausea and headaches among ground crews.[11] In one report, a Republic engineer suffered a seizure after close range exposure to the shock waves emanating from a powered-up XF-84H They intended this bastard for carriers. Wow.

We had two harriers doing donuts over that POS Iranian sub and its tender-ships (they need two cause it breaks down alot) just for the hell of it, even with us telling them not to. Oh this wasn't even in international waters which was cherry on top. Hot dog red.

Depending on where you lived it was entirely possible the first time you'd hear about such an event is when you ask your friend why in god's name he has a statue of a tiger eating a baby.

Having grown up in Ohio, thinking about how hard people fought for labor laws in the rust belt in places like Toledo makes me proud. But seeing how most of those places have gone to poo poo makes me sad.

People are trying all the time to turn around different areas, and sometimes they actually succeed. Toledo isn't the most interesting city, but I love it (born and raised), and the parts that are cool are usually really cool. I'm glad a bunch of rich dudes back in the day decided that regular folks deserved to have culture too. Otherwise Toledo would likely be just a boring hick town with delapidated factories, as opposed to a hick town with some yarn-bombed lampposts like now.

That's like saying there's nothing in the world like a child's laugh. Also, I'm apparently a 90 year old crotchety man.
