https://twitter.com/EffMktHype/status/1569855667107921920 great thread playing out in real time. smart bonds dude decides to mess around with bloomberg terminal to backtest equity strategies after a drop like today. fun read to see a small slice of what a terminal can do and it’s not over yet.

in the dotcom bust we had a maximum string of 4 straight quarterly red candles on the s&p. then later, another 3. in the GFC we had 6 straight red candles on the quarterly. in the 70's there were also periods of 3-6 straight red q's. today's close marks 3 in a row.

what were the largest market cap bubble stocks in the great financial crisis? were there any real 'bubble' stocks then? things that took off from low mkt cap in ~2005-6 and crashed to below original cap 2 years later?

The bad news, of course, is that all BFC mods make the mistake of reading the moderator forum and then vanish for months of introspection before resigning. heh. I haven’t had much time to poke around there. Perhaps it’s for the best. In stock news, 13-F deadlines were the other day and I plan to go through some soon. Curious that Berkshire kept adding to $PARA despite all ad dependent and streaming companies eating poo poo recently. I do love some Star Trek through and Pluto seems the market winner for free streaming TV?

I'm hoping agronox's upcoming thread reboot manages to raise the bar just a tiny bit, perhaps back to pre-2021 days.

Agronox posted:1. The previous iteration of this thread went from 2007-2010. But I know there was at least one trading thread before that, because I posted in it. Can anyone find it? I don't think it's in BFC. It was probably closed in September or October of 2007. I did some hunting on this and messaged Agronox various ancient candidates in the archives. But if anyone remembers something specific and good to link, please do.
