After All The Prosaic Waiting... The Sun Finally Crashes Into The Earth.
Just watched Spaceship Earth on Hulu. It's about Biosphere 2, a self-contained replica of Earth's ecosystem built in 1991 by a group of genius dreamers/ counterculture weirdos/ dangerous cult members (depending on who you believe), with the plan to live in it for two years. My wife and I loved it, but it's only got a 65% audience score on RT, so check it out if it sounds interesting, I guess. V:shobon:V

I agree it was a very interesting documentary. It's pretty traditional in its setup but it works.

Yeah I guess I can see how some people would be disappointed. I found the story fascinating and loved the '90s tech aesthetic, but it was a very standard documentary otherwise.

I honestly don't have much connection with John Le Carre beyond Tinker Tailor but I caught this doc at TIFF and it's spectacular. Errol Morris still the king.

Well, as a huge fan of Le Carré I had no idea this was coming out so thanks for posting it!

IIRC John Le Carré became an irish nationalist late in life.

I don't know about a "nationalist", but he did become an Irish citizen shortly before he died. I think he had just become fed up with the direction of the country, especially after Brexit. I read that he had nothing but Irish flags at his funeral, which I suppose is a pretty strong statement from a guy who spent 15 years spying for the British government (and only retired because his cover was blown).
